It's just a crystal that gives a powerful move with a cool animation. Gigantimax is basically mega on steroids. Mega is cool because the Science behind it is great, a temporary evolution beyond its evolution.

This game might honestly be my sole reason to get a Switch, it is by far my most nostalgic game and just everything about it I remember was amazing, from the music to the pokémon to being abled to vaguely get what was going on without even knowing what "yes" and "no" meant (Not native English speaker). I just hope they don't ruin it by rushing it out for a quick buck, rather just going strong untill it's truly done. 11:52 btw that is an actually existing ability, which for example Greninja can use. It is event exclusive (starter has standard ability of all water type starters, and the demo Greninja has the alternate ability), but breedable. It changes your type to the attack you use, making it 100% STAB. Now give that to mega Arceus and alternate his move pool to a single attack which can copy any attack in your team, and/or some other stuff like that attack that pulls out any random attack, and here you go.
