And to anyone who hasn't played the original Silent Hill, play it however you can, PS1, emulation (it's expensive now), turn off all the lights, no phone or tablet interrupting you, just the game and a dark room. I've played different horror games, and everyone is different, but nothing gets me like Silent Hill.

Until Dawn is hilarious. I made my characters fail on purpose during those QTE moments and they were falling over themselves, making dumb decisions and getting murdered, and I laughed and I laughed because I was in control of their outcome.

I don't like horror games so not really interested in most of the games on your list apart from Metaphor & Nordics, it will be my first Ys game so I'm looking forward to that. November is the month I'm looking forward to, pre ordered a PS5 pro so got lots of older & new games I'm hoping will be upgraded for the pro... Astro bot, final fantasy 16, remake, rebirth, steller blade, TLOU PT 2, forbidden west, all the Spiderman games. List goes on & on

Silent Hill 2 is one of the few games that actually scared the crap out of me as a teenager. The atmosphere was incredible. Let's hope the remake holds up. Another game which managed to scare me a lot but in a different way was STALKER, and in fact STALKER 2 is coming out Nov. 20th. My most anticipated game of the last 5 years

I remember playing this cool run n' gun game called Savage Halloween some time ago. Competently put together and a fun little game if you want that quaint halloween retro vibe. I wasn't particularly excited for any October releases, but that's got everything to do with the building hype for Monster Hunter Wilds release compelling me to reinstall Monster Hunter World and the release of Diablo 4's expansion next week lol.

As an Atlus JRPG VETERAN, Metaphor is a good place for newbies to start. For someone like me, I see little difference between Metaphor and many other JRPGs from Atlus that came before, either in gameplay or storytelling. Veterans will not be missing much. The soundtrack still SLAPS though.

I'm replaying Silent Hill 1 & greatly looking forward to the Silent Hill 2 remake. Always preferred Resident Evil, but the first couple SH games were amazing for the brooding atmosphere & dark psychological vibes. Looking forward to Ys also.

Ys x and romancing saga 2 are the two new games I am waiting for this month. I will wait for the switch 2 release of metaphor ( I want it physical and I don't have a ps ) . Apart from that ,the physical version of tomb raider collection is expected for this month in Europe( the special version has some very goodies and is relatively cheap for what it offers ) along with the physical version of Faith from fangamer which looks awesome . Lastly clock tower remaster will be released at late October in Asia and in my options it is a must . Ys x was the game I was expecting the most nevertheless after playing romancing saga 2 demo I decided to make a deviation ( never played a SaGa game before also ! ) Excellent selections Clayton

Downloading Silent Hill 2 as we speak. Loved the first 3 as a kid! I played Until Dawn back when it originally came out. Loved it! Heard they made a few unpopular changes, however. Still waiting on that MGS: Delta release date! Glad they fixed the character models and are listening to fan feedback. Also excited to get a good VR set for the Batman game and other VR games coming up. I know that Batman is stuck to one platform, but any recommendations about what VR set to get for PC? EDIT: Totally agreed about Veilgaurd and the woke junk in gaming. Just look at who is at the top of the company and you'll see what's wrong.

Well, Ys X will be my October purchase. Been playing the series since 7 for the PSP and then a decent amount of years later Oath in Felghana and Origin when they came to Steam. Also recently bought DBZ Kakarot for a good deal. It's not that great a game, but as a DBZ fan I'm enjoying it. Silent Hill 2 remake I'll be skipping. I do love the original, but thanks to some DEI involvement I just can't. Some characters were unnecessarily changed and there's also some dialogue censorship. Ironic how the people who are encouraging euthanasia are the ones who are most concerned about removing any references to suicide in media.

I'd be careful of supporting anything by Meta, Clayton. Just stick with your PS VR, as you stated. Anyway, I haven't always had the best experience with Bloober Team games, but the new Silent Hill 2 remake definitely looks the part; on par with RE2 remake I'd say, or close to it.

@@PlumbDrumb I have a 3080 12GB paired with an i7-9700k, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and a nice MSI Mobo. Running the game at 4K with DLSS Performance (Not Ultra Performance) with Raytracing On and Everything set to the 'Epic' Setting. I am getting a solid 50 FPS on my 65" Samsung TV. I haven't checked, but I expect that after the first few hours, when you get into the tighter spaces/more linear areas, you could turn DLSS on Balanced of even Quality and get similar results.

@@PlumbDrumb Honestly, I never compromise under Quality or Balanced DLSS on even the harshest games but I must say that even on Performance (the third of the four options) the game looks genuinely great. The HDR implementation is excellent as well and the HDR settings are more robust than any game I've seen.

Still making my way through MGSV but I dug out medievil on the ps4 for October. I never played the full ps1 version as a child so when I saw the remake on PS4 I had to get it. I also have silent hill for ps1 coming in the post this Tuesday from Italy. I couldn't find it anywhere and the cheapest I could find it in Dublin was 90 euro?? Anyway I got it from some chap in Italy on eBay for 50 quid including P&P and if it turns out it's all in Italian I'm gonna be so pisst. Asides from silent hill 2 these games all look a bit shite if you ask me but I'm a cantankerous dinosaur. How can you go from metal gear to all this pixie fairy shite. Space marines two looks excellent but I'm too retarded for PC. Good man Clayton.

The ORIGINAL Silent Hill? Great game! Voiceover has aged some but wonderful game. Also, if you are a fan of Silent Hill and Resident Evil games, I highly recommend you try Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve II for the PS1.
