The Nordics are a fantastic region, especially when it comes to landscapes - the vast forests and lakes of Finland, the dramatic rock formations of Norway or the lovely waterways of Sweden. What I liked most (although I am far from having seen most of the countries) is Korouoma (a national park in Finland), Tromsø with the northernmost botanic garden in the world, Sommarøy (a little island west of Tromsø, which can be reached via the island Kvaløya), Kilpisjärvi (a lake close to the point where Finland, Norway and Sweden meet), Aavasaksa (a mountain a bit south of the Arctic Circle in Finland) and Levy (a village and a mountain within the Arctic circle in Finland), Dalsland (with the towns Ed and Mellerud) in Sweden. It's a pity that we couldn't enjoy Senja fully due to bad weather. We would have had to wait for at least a week until it would clear up.

Awesome shots and I definitely can understand your enthusiasm for these beautiful landscapes. But I need to talk for a moment about the flipside of the coin. I also loved exploring Norway and Sweden but there was one reason why I never hiked Trolltunga or other places mentioned in this video - These places are totally overcrowded by tourists who are there in order to capture there own "unique" photo or video of this place (a shot which for sure already exists thousands of times on Instagram, KZbin, etc.). Even if I absolutely can recommend visiting these Scandinavian countries I just need to admit that the most beautiful and also a bit more unique way to explore them is by hiking into their nationalparks for some days in a row and experience places like in that video just without these masses of tourists around you who just ride the car the whole time in order to stand on a prebuilt platform and missing so much on the untouched wild country. Just respect nature, don't mess around with the animals and don't leave any trash and you will experience Scandinavia in a totally other and at least in my opinion also in a better way than just visiting just the same overcrowded Instagram locations all the time.

I live here and twatF have a valid point. The best experiences is to be had off the beaten track. Just make sure to have sufficient clothes and equipment for the season you set out in. If you should come across a heard of mini polar bears don't panic. They are just sheep. Totally harmless. Have a safe trip. In the event you find coconuts, you're probably lost and should head further north. It's usually uphill. Be prepared for anything.

/Wikipedia

@@petraoien5186 Scandinavia[b] (/ˌskændɪˈneɪviə/ SKAN-dih-NAY-vee-ə) is a subregion in Northern Europe, with strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties. The term Scandinavia in local usage covers the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. -Wikipedia The meaning of Scandinavia is a group of countries in northern Europe that includes Denmark, Norway and Sweden, sometimes also Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands -Scandinavia Standard Norway, Sweden and Denmark are the three Scandinavian countries. Sweden maybe hasn't got those magnificent mountains as Norway and Iceland, instead, we're known for our coastlines. For example, you should visit Höga kusten (the high coast outside of Härnösand), Stockholm's archipelago (yeah, I know Stockholm city is made up by islands but we Swedes don't really consider it to be the archipelago, we mean the thousands of islands you can visit outside of it), Österlen (known for amazing beaches and it's apple must farms) and of course västkusten (the west coast with small fishing villages like Smögen and Lysekil).

@@RyanShirley Please do! They're magnificent :) I'm from the small coastal town of Nyköping about an hour south of Stockholm and if you're ever in that area you should go to the nature reserve of Stendörren (it's made up of islands with footbridges between them) :)

While Ireland isn’t in Scandinavia, it’s pretty near by and worth visiting when travelling returns to normal. Quite like Scotland, yet slightly less dramatic inland, it’s even greener and has some amazing cliffs and costal formations to the west. Dublin is beautiful full of old red brick buildings and attractions and towns like Galway are great cultural hotspots. The turbulent history of the north is tragic yet fascinating and with Viking and norman settlements everywhere, it has so much history, great cities and towns and some beautiful countryside.

Really interesting that people here are debating about the definition of scandinavia- while not commenting the actual video, -wich is stunning. @@RyanShirley Since you say that you have spent the last few summers exploring Europe's nordic countries, it's a bit sad you didn't ask any locals about this as it is important for them to distinguish Scandinavia from the Nordics. They would happily have cleared up any uncertainties you might have about the difference between Scandinavia and the Nordics. If you rely on Wikipedia instead of talking to the locals, check the Danish, Finish, Faroese, Norwegian or Swedish page instead, and maybe you understand the difference between the Nordics and Scandinavia.
