The first one is pretty easy to do without a plug in and just save but the rest I like thanks for the video!

Pro Zooms? Maybe if you hop into Apple Motion, but definitely not in FCP. You'd have to set scaling and position keyframes manually which would be a nightmare and you'd never be able to get that smooth ease in and out look. You're welcome, brotha!

hey man, incredibly helpful. I have a band and use FCP cut stuff for music video's but also produce podcasts to keep the lights on. My priority is a cool "filmic feel" and am short on time so color correction time is a luxury I don't have. If there was one you'd suggest that I won't "outgrow" which would you lean towards for my situation?

Commenting as I go... Would you recommend formatting a scale below what was shot? Shoot at 1080 but edit 720 to accommodate the digital zooming? I would think digital artifacts would otherwise be pretty evident

That's the best route to take, but for the most part you should be fine so long as you're not scaling in a ton. I'm constantly digitally zooming into shots and although that does result in a worse looking image when you scale in a lot, it's not that noticeable.

I am a big proponent of Color Finale. If only they could add key-framing to their plug-in!! It would add an entire dimension to this software. I more and more often find myself looking for other ways to color grade my projects due to the lack of key-framing ability of CL.

Ya that's a good point! You're key framing your corrections often though? Would you mind giving me an example of when you're key framing with your videos?

Hi Dylan. I do use key framing in my color grading a fair amount actually. Examples of that would be with a moving footage where the lighting conditions are changing as the camera is moving. Imagine a scene which consists of someone who is outdoor in the bright sun slowly walking into a dark room. In those instances I will Keyframe the exposure, even white balance, to adapt to the decrease/increase in luminosity and changing light conditions. Another one would be to add effects to my clips by progressively increasing or decreasing saturation or if I want to go from an all black image to slowly reveal a scene. All those are easy to do with the basic color grading tools available in FCP, which have key framing abilities, but not Color Finale. I think it is a huge limitation.
