with goblin recruiter i always get goblin ringleader and then 4 other goblins, and set the ringleader on top, drawn him the next turn, and then play him, revealing and drawing the other 4.

If you chaos warp a general (including your own), the owner of that general doesn't shuffle their deck, instead they just reveal the top card and put it into play. this is a good way to cheat something powerful off the top of your deck if you need to. also, JLK said you could tell chaos warp was an old card because it breaks the color pie and does something that red doesn't do, which is patently wrong since red is inherently the color of chaos and random effects. warp world for example is essentially chaos warp for all permanents.

it's still not an old card as it was created for the original commander set. and MaRo's point wasn't that random effects aren't red, it was that red isn't the color of universal answers so CW breaks out of the color pie. i wasn't arguing that red shouldn't have a universal answer, just that JLK's reasoning for the false assertion of it being an old card was incorrect.

Pretty old video, but just FYI: You don't need the staff to go infinite with lightning crafter. Just Kiki, crafter, and a sac outlet is enough because you can champion Kiki with the token, tap to do 3 damage, then sac the token to unchampion Kiki, returning you to the original board state.

I've always preferred Warp World over Insurrection. It depends on your deck, but, in my Krenko Mob Boss EDH deck Warp World generally puts two or more win-con in play so I can end a game. Plus it removes problems from the board such as enchantments or planeswalkers. It's worth trying if you have room in the other 99.

Love the podcast. I'm fairly new to EDH, so taking all of this info in is great. As for honorable mentions, what about War's Toll? Pseudo-locking mana is painful enough, but forcing every swing to go all-out can screw with enemy plans too... especially Rafiq decks like mine.

Kiki is stupid. Stupidly good. I use him in Riku of Two Reflections to copy basically anything I want value off of. Pestermite/Zealous Conscripts to go infinite, Mulldrifter to draw more cards, Solemn Simulacrum to ramp and then draw at end step, Thragtusk for value, it's just nuts the applications he has. The only decks I wouldn't run him in are red decks that aren't centered on creatures. I need to get another copy for my Omnath deck since it's so perfect by copying any of my Elementals which I can get value for as well as burn from Omnath's ability as well. Just, insane value Kiki makes.

Looking at the goblin that champions something (LightingCrafter) you could go infinite with something like ImpactTremor. Just champion something stupid then copy the Crafter which champions kikki. Now tap the token to kill itself (has haste cause kikki) kikki comes back untapped(!). There you go. ETB from ImpactTremors kills everybody. Or with a sac-outlet use the Crafter to bolt then sac it and repeat. There are so many combos spinning of just from these 2 cards o.O

What about goblin lackey and Warren instigator. Two cards that let you put a goblin into play for free. And the choices that you have are unbelievable. Goblin recruiter, siege-gang commander, goon, matron etc etc etc...

The reason Decree of Annihilation doesn't have the wording "destroy all permanents" instead of what it reads is because the card exiles all lands, creatures, artifacts, graveyards, and hands, NOT enchantments! Enchantments survive this board wipe. Great card, very affordable to buy at this time too! The Gamble card is one of the reasons I call MTG "Magic: The Gambling", that and we all gamble on our opening hand, plus we all gamble on each card draw, etc... So yeah... Magic: The Gambling! Woohoo!

if it comes fro out side the game it follows no rules so in a colorless eldrazi deck with that one dude you can cast all the colored ones if you wanted and as many copies as you want although it does follow sideboard rules so 15 colored eldrazi but i mean there is mor broken eldrazi than those but my point is with that other card it doesnt matter if its a card you already have so you could run 15 insurrections effectively as long as you could continually cast it

+josh idler sideboards in EDH are restricted to 10 cards and common sense suggests that the cards in it are still restricted to the color identity of your general as that is the spirit of the format and prior to the recent change to Rule #4 there was almost no way to cast cards not in your general's colors.

+Ben yes but there is no restrictions on cards in side board the rules just don't exist anywhere and with the one eldrazi card it says cast from out side the fame for free with that being said common sense doesn't apply and the action happens up until recently there was no actual reason to cast a colored eldrazi 2hen you could cast 10 it that betrays or the one that destroyed permememts or the one that returns perments and another thing this one happens quite a bit if there is no rule for something in edh it defaults to legacy rules it's why having 40 relentless rats in an edh deck is allowed and since no other set cares about cards and colors the side could be anything

Vandalblast is better than Shattering Spree, because 4R and you destroy all artifacts you don't control, rather than R destroy target artifact as many times as you can.

+Ethan Hopper yup IV is strictly worse since it only copies your stuff. 99% of scenarios you want to copy your opponent's tooth and nail and not your own warp world or whatever.

You can´t put a commander in the library. It will always go to the command zone besides you choose not to.

This is a new updated ruling, commander wasn't always played under this ruling, being able to "tuck" commanders into people libraries was a valid, and widely run strategy to deal with enemy commanders.

Colors are just... overrated, to keep it simple. I just recently ended up in the top10 of a 150 man FNM EDH Free4All tournament (yes, those exist, and they're pretty competitive) with a COLORLESS deck . A solid plan plus synergy, resulting from a lot of testing, beats individual, strong cards all the way.

Also, dbag cards like jokulhaups, apocalypse, decree of annihilation and so on have no business being played in EDH in almost all metas and therefore don't belong on lists like these. also, unequivocally Sneak Attack is the best red card besides kiki jiki in the format.
