Australia as a whole may only have 3 major parks but this one makes this country a destination for enthusiasts. An El Loco, an accelorator, and then a Mack Hyper thats one of the hest in the world? My girlfriend live in Australia, and I was there with her last month, and we went to the three major parks on the Gold Coast during our time together, this was planned a few months in advance, and then, the three major roller-coaster youtubers I watch all wound up travelling to those parks around the same time. So surreal. I thought I'd beat you all to them, but I guess not. :p Well, I still got to them before you did specifically, I think. :p I sadly missed out on Superman at Warner Bros, the woodie at Seaworld, and the drop tower at Dreamworld, and I don't think we're going back to the Gold Coast the next time I'm in Australia, partially because it'll be winter there, but maybe the time after that. (I also got to Ferrariworld and IMG Worlds of Adventure on the way there, so at least I beat the bunch of you to Mission Ferrari. :P Flying Aces was sadly closed though.)
@Melody303 Жыл бұрын
And yeah, DC Rivals is easily the best coaster in Australia, especially in the backwards facing last row, and I think I'll give 2nd place for now to Steel Taipan, even if I didn't get to ride it in the spinning last car (that train wasn't in use when I was there), that's a very nice version of the Blue Fire model, better than the original in fact. (IMG's version was inferior to the original, on the other hand).

Ok I think I worked it out. The RIDE system in Gremlins was MOVED to the old Batman ride building for Justice League. That's it. That's what it has to be and why the vehicles have zero dynamic movement and just move slowly through the course at the *exact* rate they did in the Gremlins ride. All makes sense now.
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
That would be a good way to reuse an old ride.
@tboy5873 Жыл бұрын
Doubt they would reuse a 10 year old ride system IMO. Most likely it was sold for scrap and the Justice League has one just for that. Not to mention they were both done by different manufacturers (in-house for Gremlins, Sally for Justice League)
@teddym2808 Жыл бұрын
@@tboy5873 Ten years is nothing. The movement speed and track design is IDENTICAL. That's exactly what they did, to save money. Sally just probably did the effects. Why wouldn't they have replaced a dynamic simulator with an exciting justice league then like the ones in six flags with really fast movement capabilities? It makes no sense. This was a money save.

I think 3 family coasters was a missed opportunity, a big one. Yes I consider two boomerang tracks that aren't contiguous to be 2 coasters. I agree with the suspended, but they already have 2 sit down family coasters with scooby and road runner. So to add a third FC is great, I am all for it, keep the suspended as it's unique to that part of the country (there's only one other that is decades old and head banging at dreamworld) but they should have intertwined it with a raptor which probably would have been cheaper than two steel boomerang tracks anyway. This would have given the new area both family fun and hard core thrills, and that kind of coaster is what is needed in Australia now, as we have nothing that is off the charts like RMC do. It would have solidified Movie World as the number one thrill park even further. That's just how I feel about it, a raptor interacting with the family suspended. In fact I consider it a BIG missed opportunity after the other multi looper was removed (SLC). That's just too many family coasters and now the family outrides will handily outnumber thrills, so maybe they are trying to say something, I don't know. But what can't be denied is building one of each ride genre in that area would cater to all demographics.
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
What I think this park could really use is a year where they just add a lot of flat rides to round out their lineup. I know they're pressed for space, but I have to imagine they could squeeze some throughout.
@teddym2808 Жыл бұрын
@@CanobieCoaster Dreamworld across the street has good flats, a Disco with middle hill, a gyro swing, a Gerstlauer fly and a Zamperla air race. They used to have this cool Vekoma diagonal top spin but they got rid of that. Let's not forget the almost 400ft giant drop that is re opening in a few weeks. Movie world could do with a couple but I don't think it's ever been their focus and TBH I am surprised that we have the Intamin 360 and the S&S space shot. I have to look at it objectively though and not from personal desire, as I want more coasters, but yeah, a couple more flats couldn't hurt, but this post was particularly about the 3 family coasters coming which I think is ridiculous. Do you not agree 1 family and thrill would have been better?

I am pretty sure Justice League replaced the Gremlins ride and was in that very building - that's why it doesn't have the more simulated movement sensations of the modern style of track dark rides as it's using the old Gremlins track with all new theming. Edit, I apparently may be wrong on this. I am lost then why they didn't give it dynamic movement, I was certain it followed the old Gremlins track. I wonder what happened to that building then?

@teddym2808 Жыл бұрын
@@ThemeParkOgre I know it was a sim I rode it many times.. I remember it clearly, you would start in his library then go through to a section with an animatronic and when he turned to reveal himself I was SO stunned at how good it was for back then (when MW first opened) and then you were ushered off into groups for the sim. I remember the Gremlins ride clearly as well, in fact, I really liked the effects on that one, the Gremlins looked amazing. But it was slow and for some reason I just confused where the new Justice League ride was placed, which I even corrected in my original comment. No biggie. Do you remember the looney tunes boat ride? They got rid of that too.. that had a cool elevator effect when you weren't actually moving, where you were supposed to be going down into the Earth before boarding, then the boat ride itself had a vertical lift to the final (shallow) drop. That was a god family ride.

It’s my home park and they only have two flat rides, like their other park SeaWorld. It’s absurd. As for Doomsday Explorer, just like Vortex at SeaWorld, it’s run too slow and the ride cycle is way too short. It’s even more ridiculous when there’s no one waiting for the ride, the ride just sits there waiting for patrons rather than give thrill seekers a decent ride. That’s part of the reason why I’m only going to be renewing my Dreamworld annual pass at the end of the year.
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
I wasn't too surprised by the lack of flats at Sea World. It reminded me of the composition of the US ones. I was surprised there weren't more at Movie World though.
@coasterblocks3420 Жыл бұрын
@@CanobieCoaster SeaWorld now has less than half the rides it had in its peak when I was in high school. Both SeaWorld and Dreamworld suffered greatly from poor management over many years allowing the parks to be run into the ground. This is still visually apparent at SeaWorld with the slowly decaying remnants of the Vikings Revenge flume ride and the SBNO monorail. Whilst Dreamworld has a decaying former mine ride, at least it’s hidden behind trees and they seem to be really on the ball making up for past mistakes. I’m way more excited for the new developments happening at Dreamworld. SeaWorld has made some curious - or as Sir Humphrey Appleby would say, courageous choices of late.
