Justin Timberlake said all the the members were on the same page about NSYNC not being a long term group, that they all knew they would go their own way eventually. It was only after Michael Jackson wanted to work with only Justin and record Gone that he got the courage to go solo. And they never announced anything they just started working on their own projects and after a few years we realized them getting back together wasn't going to happen. But it really wasn't all that different. I mean Justin and JC were the faces and voices of NSYNC same with Beyonce and Destiny's Child (and I like Destiny's Child too). So when Justin went solo it really wasn't all that different from NSYNC's own music.

Yeah msmojo got that summary all wrong. They weren't "waiting to do another album." They just had to fulfill their contract, which they did with their greatest hits. I don't think any of them expected a long term BSB situation. They all seem happy and well adjusted now.

REM and the Eagles had a GREAT run. It was time...they were both amazing and have left us with awesome music. The Beatles were epic musicians. It was time for them to move on to their individual projects. I'm a musician...shifting styles and creative differences happen often. It's just part of growth. People forget that it's art. Art must evolve. And people must evolve, and sometimes people grow apart.

It’s so sad 🥺to see bands breaking up I can understand most Bands want to live a normal life and be with family while some of them want to do a solo career or do Broadway show tunes I’ve been listening to BTS a lot and I love them and I got into them after me and my ex boyfriend broke up I don’t want them to ever disband they are amazing I know that they’re doing solo projects right now but hopefully they can do group projects again and tour in the future I would be sad if they break up 😞

The Beatles all had solo success, and Sir Paul just keeps flying. Ringo is more in the background, but I think they did all jam occasionally here and there but a lot of them weren't publicized beforehand, just a little bonus when you went to see any one of them. The Egos-I mean Eagles, all turned into middle aged and elderly brats. The longest unsolved lawsuit ever.

I don't think I can be sad about the Beatles breakup because I was born long after they broke up so I never experienced the Beatles firsthand. I remember my dad saying he was around 5 years old and my grandparents called him inside to watch the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show after a couple of minutes he lost interest and went back outside to play. I still make fun of him and his dislike of the Beatles. I don't know why he doesn't like them.

Well for me it was Geri leaving the Spice Girls. It seemed sudden from my viewpoint, but backstage she had a lot going on. When Mel C (my favourite Spice Girl) left, that was even more devastating. I followed the girls into their solo music careers for a while until my now favourite artist launched her career in 2000 and she slowly drew my interest away.

Yes, I was wondering why the Spice Girls wasn't on this list. I remember where I was and how stunned I was when I learned Geri quit. Maybe it was because their disbandment wasn't subsequently plastered all over entertainment news. In the meantime, I was glad that Oasis broke up. They made good music, but Liam and Noel's family feud and drama got real old real quick.

I don’t miss *NSYNC because Backstreet Boys are still together and I always liked them better anyway. It seems like more bands from the 2010s have broken up after only a few years together: One Direction, Fifth Harmony…Little Mix just lost a member and went on hiatus months after so I’ll be interested to see if the remaining members eventually reunite and resume making music as a group.

I was more of an NSYNC girl but I also liked the Backstreet Boys (I'm happy they are still together). I think the difference is with the groups you mentioned is they never had desires to be in a group. They all auditioned to be soloists on the X-Factor and when you are young and given a huge opportunity to sing and do what you love you take it, even if that means you will have to be in a group for awhile. I think being soloists was always in the back of their minds. Little Mix lasted a long time (and they will probably come back together at some point without Jesy though). Could it also be with the Backstreet Boys none of them really had successful solo careers so it was easier to remain a group not to mention how much they love and respect each other as people whereas with other groups I doubt how much they really got along. It's really nice to see a group last almost 30 years and all the members are married and have kids and still make it work.

Yeah One Direction still hurts a bit :( To be honest though I would just be happy if they came back together and even just toured their last album! As for all the comments about Little Mix, I truly believe that the three girls will come back together and make more music! I think it's just with two of them having babies and stuff they want to take a much deserved break after their last tour. Idk if Jesy would ever come back or even do a performance with them again, but tbh she seemed miserable there so she's probably better off.

BTS didn't break up. They are just working on solo music right now instead of group music because they will have to serve in the military soon so they are taking time to do their own thing before they enlist. It's very normal in kpop for members to pursue solo projects while still remaining active in a group. BTS is still very much together and will be working on projects other than music together like their show Run BTS. But I'm excited to see all 7 solo albums.

@@escoszickest I'm excited to see their solo work and yes it hurts because it's going to be a change and change can be scary sometimes. Not to mention my dream is to see BTS live someday (I had tickets for their tour in 2020 but of course the pandemic ruined everything). But I don't think BTS should be included in a video about break ups/disbandments when they haven't. They need this "break" now to be a better and stronger group in the future because they all want BTS to last a long time. And to think this was supposed to happen at the end of 2020 makes so much sense in hindsight. Listening to Map of the Soul: 7 now I have different feelings knowing that was supposed to be their last album before doing their solo albums. But I'm also happy they gave us a lot of music and content during the pandemic which was such a hard time for everyone
