You didn't mention the Seabae anemone. Wonder why. They're one of my favorites. Plus, they aren't as prone to wander.

Condylactis Gigantea can actually grow pretty huge, their disk diameter can be up to 16 inches and are about 6 inches tall. Super common where I'm from so I've had them for years.

I have kept Ritteri and BTAs in my display but Ritteri's were the worst - - if they don't like a spot, they'll move quite dramatically and most of the time float around the tank. I tried Carpet... but made the mistake of quarantining it (you don't need to quarantine anemones) and died. Such a shame as it was really large. They seem to be really sensitive to the slightest of change.

another great video Jeff....my only criticism(if you can call it that) is whether or not these particular nemes are more or less clownfish hosts...many people get anemones to be hosts for clowns and not all of these are the best for that. thank you very much for your weekly content. I sub to you because your content and delivery is unique and spot on.

They are gorgeous, but don't get fooled by their beauty. Story: A few years ago me and my friend went to the beach it was rocky and had shallow waters, so we decided to hunt for crabs between the rocks. And my friend accidental brushed her leg on one, it then inflicted a painful sting in her leg. The ambulance came and drove her to hospital where they proceded to shower her leg in vinegar (I think it gets rid of poison). And now she has a scar the size of a hand on her leg.

Yes, I too am somewhat baffled by this and I hear it quite often from KZbinrs in the field. It's concerning when someone who is supposed to be expert enough in their field to give guidance to others consistently mispronounces basic terms.... If I went to a surgeon for a consult about my pancreas and he kept calling it a paMcreas instead of paNcreas, I'd seek out a different surgeon. I really love his videos and he is obviously far more knowledgeable than I in this area, but this mispronouncing the subject of his video is concerning.

I have tried 4 anemone's from month 7 to a year and none do well. It is soo frustrating. Not to mention expensive. I've gotten extensive advice from WWC, done a ton of research, maintain my levels, have 3 AI 32HD's on my Reefer 525XL. Still they never seem to take well. I've lost a large Rainbow BT ($500+ killed by "Loving to death.", A Black Widow, A Rose BT, and the ill advised Rainbow Bottom. If anyone can give me any advice it'd be much appreciated. I want a home for my O.C. Clowns!
@mous3y4903 жыл бұрын
how long they took to die after you placed them in?
@dr.vinnyboombatz223 жыл бұрын
@@mous3y490 Within a few weeks to some 3 months after doing fine. But my tank has since matured to what will be 2 years in January. And I realised my Mag levels were way too low. Once I upped those I had success. Also I refrained from trying to target feed them. And left it to them getting whatever food was present in the water column. In addition, neither of my clowns have tried to get in them since. So there was no "Loving to death." Syndrome imvolved.

Rainbow is a color morph of Bubble-Tip Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). Unless you mean the recently-discovered Rainbow Bottom Anemone (look it up if you haven't seen it it's the coolest thing ever, but you can't buy it). EDIT: Looks like he mentioned 3 different BTAs. The rose, watermelon, and Colorado whatever are all the same species.

Admire the video, great job mentioning power head protection for wandering anemones. However my only recommendation is to practice saying A-Ne-Mo-Ne. In the reef industry, you can just looked at unpleasantly for mispronouncing a name. I did for a while for pronouncing Favite, as (fah-vait/vite) when it's pronounced (fuh-vai-tee). Definitely practiced that one for a while until I got it down. We all make silly mistakes but the learning is what makes it fun, hope this helps. Love the content!

The rock flower nem is much safer hardier and prettier than the tube anemone there rock flower is the most reef safe anemone u can get they don’t move and they don’t grow big they’re essentially large mushrooms lol but they really are I’ve seen mushrooms move as much as rock flowers do and I’ve seen mushrooms sting a rock flower bc the rock flowers are jus not aggressive at all they’re basically as reef safe as a mushroom and probably almost jus as hardy at least in my experience with them
