I think that Nexus burst BTA is just absolutely eye-catching! I currently have a Black Widow in my nano system for almost a year now and has been growing relatively fast. Gotta love anemones!

These all look like variations of the colonial type of bubble tip anemones which stay small and split regularly. Which varieties are the solitary type which don't split as often and instead grow larger? Great video by the way

My bubble tip anemone has shriveled up. Its tentacles are super small and shrunken. It was fine for the first few weeks, but recently it moved and just started doing it. I also have a condy anemone and that one moved when the bubble tip got too close. Is there anything I can do to help it?
@reidpowers39326 ай бұрын
Just let it be it will come too once water parameters are right where they want it. Also flow rate will cause it but it should go to a place it wants and open up over time. Also can try to spot feed a d see how it reacts.

A fairly normal thing for them to do! If it continues to twist up and holds them, it might become a problem, but I would say if it just has a twist or two in it I wouldn't worry too much! -Blaine

Just out of curiosity. I attempted to keep 5 green bubble tip anemones on separate occasions and I’ve checked off every care tip known with all of them dying. 3 local fish stores stated Green BTA allegedly are the worst to keep alive and don’t last. Not sure if this is true because I love the color green and haven’t tried any other color. Is there some kind of truth to this or reason they aren’t in this video?

these things are dangerous for a mixed reef right? they move around stinging any coral it comes in contact with possibly killing them, or is that a different type of anemone?
@plyr63696 ай бұрын
That is these guys. I have two in my mixed reef 20g. I don’t recommend it unless you have the time to get your eye one it every morning and night. Move coral out of its way if it decides to move

One thing you forgot that is really important when owning a BTA, or almost any anemone. ALWAYS USE A FILTER SOCK OR PUMP COVER! IF YOU DONT, YOU RUN THE RISK OF IT CLIMBING ON IT AND GETTING SHREDDED. NO BUENO AT ALL I PROMISE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE AT WORK AND DON'T CATCH IT IN TIME.

Sorry for spoiling the party, but normally in the wild ocellaris and perculas aren’t naturally found inside BTAs, rather they are usually found inside Stichodactyla carpets, long tentacle anemones and a few others
@Dave_Andre2 ай бұрын
Yep, I second this. Maroon clowns are the ones I usually see living with bta. Sometimes really large tomatos like maroon colored ones. I noticed that they have their preference. While clarkies and skunks like those long white nems. But to be fair, I heard that those brown carpet nems are hard to keep so, yeah. Plus, their clowns are pretty much captive bred, I guess they'll host what is provided in the tank.
@Chelmon_lol2 ай бұрын
@@Dave_Andre agreed, but please note, fish do not host anemones, the anemones themselves are hosts.

After ten years i wont allow them to get bigger than a small fist if you do you run the risk of exploding in the wavemaker, happens about once a year if you have 5 or more, caution these are tank killers, catching it quick with a 50% water change will resolve it but if your not home say goodbye to everything
