For one off brilliant shots, 2 honourable mentions should come from the 2019 world final - both in unsuccessful 147 attempts... The double on the last red from John Higgins plus the red from Judd Trump into the green pocket cannoning the red off the side cushion and getting position on the black.
@EnglishPoolandSnooker4 жыл бұрын
Agreed they were great shots but not so special as they didn’t achieve the 147. There was a similar doubled last red yesterday by David Gilbert. He got 15 reds, 15 blacks and missed a tough yellow.

Alex Higgins vs Doug Mountjoy WSC 1982, cue ball against the brown, plays the blue into the middle with a ton of left hand side on the cue ball, off the baulk cushion to move the safe pink off the side cushion over the middle pocket, greatest shot I've ever seen. And the green to win the match in the deciding frame at 12-12 is a very close second. That was Alex's year, a very special player.

It should be mentioned that Ronnie's last red down the rail to get on the black was for a 147, and he did it left-handed and got perfect position.

It does say left handed red for 147 on the video 👍🏼

Great compilation, but would have loved to see John Higgins' cross double against Judd Trump to keep a 147 possible.

Thanks, glad you like it. Yes that was a brilliant pressure shot but would have been more special if he actually made the 147. Dave Gilbert did an almost identical shot last week also trying to get a maximum and he missed the yellow.

Jimmy White is one of the great shot makers of all times. There are shots that he makes that would demoralize any opponent. Trump is his able successor. O'Sullivan makes wonderful shots, but also has an uncanny ability to string together shots for perfect games consistently.

Yes all 3 great exciting players, all a generation apart.

Very good selection ! I'm also very impressed by this shot on the red, by Ding vs Fu, creating an angle from nothing : kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5XEe6Chf7qia6s

Thanks! Yes that was an amazing shot to get the black from there, also brilliant to make the clearance with the double on the blue.
