This terrific compilation brings back so many memories. I'd like to nominate Steve Davis's double on the brown that also moved the blue from the cushion in the clearance that sealed his win over John Higgins in the 2010 World Championship second round. It was wonderful to see the great man roll back the years, and it was a great and brave shot by any standard. Thanks for this excellent post.

Alex Higgins's legendary blue is the best and most outrageous pot ever under immense pressure, this is why Higgins was the most exciting player of all time, he played shots that nobody else could or ever would even entertain in serious tournament play. He was the ultimate risk taker, which took him to two world titles and all the other big ones. Had he been able to reign it in just a little bit more, he probably would have been the best ever.

Great selection, some real vintage clips in here. I was kinda hoping Ebdon's (blue?) against Stephen Lee was in here from one of the satellite tournaments. Don't know when or where he played it, just remember it was the first time Peter did his "COME ON!" yell after the pot. He was so psyched up you could see his nostrils flaring as he cued it, and Stephen was so upset at the outburst he kept shaking his head, so traumatised afterwards he then moved into match fixing.

I honestly think that Higgins,White and O'Sullivan being the players the fans always wanted to win has had to have a big say on there Careers because when you look at what they won compared with there talent will show that being the crowd favorite is not always a good thing because as human beings we want to win for ourselves and to have big crowds turning up to watch you and expect you to win is a very very difficult situation to find yourself in hence a big reason why Higgins only won the world title twice with a 10 year gap in between and Jimmy losing all his 6 finals which no other player will lose that many because it's very difficult to get to a world final these days never mind 6 and Ronnie O'Sullivan who won his first Major at 17 in the Uk final but took until he was 25 before finally winning a World title and Yes i know he has all the records in the book now especially with being the jual world championship winner with 7 with the great Hendry and O'Sullivan has all the big records in Snooker now but that's really because he had to get used to people expecting him to win and as he's got older i think it's done him a little favour because he's not the big favourite he once was hence why he was able to win his 6 and 7th World Titles.Alos look at Judd Trump and his insane potting and break building and to think he turned professional in 2005 and Won his 1 and only World title to date 14 years later in 2019 and yes he's won the triple Crown of the Majors but i truly believe being the fan favorite has put pressure on Judd also but i do believe in 10 years that Judd wilk be chasing O'Sullivan's records along with Zintong who looks amazing also but the fan pressure has held back all these greats in there era and i know a little about what I'm talking about as an Irish boxer with decent talent as a young lad with the exception of your victory before the fight started. There may have only being 150-200 fans but it put a little bit more pressure on which didn't do me much harm but in a game like snooker where the slightest movement as your cueing up can make you miss or make you play a bad safety.
