Forrest Gump is just a dull film that most film enthusiasts (snobs), critics, those-in-the-know would not admit to even liking. Its like trying to get a punk rock fan to admit to talk about the merits of The Backstreet Boys. It's a movie for the masses with a ridiculous plot: a dumb white guy manages to bear witness to some of America's most iconic events and doesn't even realize it! War, racism, AIDS all fail to faze him. I swear to God the spirit of the GOP lives within the film. The Graduate and Pulp Fiction soundtracks are so much better than Forrest Gump, as are a host of other soundtracks. Gump is a rip off of the Big Chill soundtrack anyways.

Every light in the city was turned purple, Paisley Park became a Mecca, free concerts by A-list musicians playing their favorite Prince tracks, free showings of _Purple Rain_ - but most impressive was when I got on a LRT train and everyone was singing _When Doves Cry_ Its too bad that I only discovered the culture when it was dead. And "To Sir With Love" proved that just one song could dominate an entire movie more so than many films' entire soundtracks or scores.

I think this soundtrack was far better integrated into the film than their top pick (marie antoinette, I think they chose). How could you not consider The Blues Brothers? It has to be one of the best music and dance movies ever made.

Mean Streets (which I first saw at a drive-in when there still was such a thing in the '70's) was, for my money, the first time a soundtrack functioned as an absolutely pivotal character in film -- it demonstrates experientially how important the music is and should have been recognized here.

Barry Lyndon isn't set in Victorian England. "Victorian" refers to the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837-1901. Barry Lyndon takes place between 1750 and 1789. Some of it is set in England, but a lot of it is set in Ireland, Germany, and Belgium.

Sofia Coppola chose the french group Air to write the score for The Virgin Suicides. It's one of the most hauntingly beautiful ever, and perfectly evokes the mystery of the girls and their deaths. Amazing.

A movie named Museo just came out in Mexico this week, with Gael García Bernal, and it's use of "La Noche de los Mayas" was outstanding in my opinion, makes the film feel much more ominous and epic, while still keeping it a grounded, character driven film.

Wait, no Dirty Dancing? a huge soundtrack staple of the 80s, also you're missing Grease and Saturday Night Fever. I would also add Slumdog Millionaire

It’s weird my favourite soundtracks didn’t get top spots. But when they get mentioned by you guys. It makes me so happy. I usually watch these count downs on other sites getting angry that my choice wasn’t mentioned. But you guys put so much more into your lists. I have discovered so many great film thanks to you . So Thank You 🙌🏼🤜💥🤛
