I like the new feature in the camera that when you record you can review it... I like that And I like how blake actually talks The chatacters were great Jumpscares... IDK someones got me. The story about Jessica is interesting but the main story... wasen't that great The location is great I WOULD PICK OUTLAST 2 OVER.1 but for me the first outlast is scarier a little bit...

Resident evil 4 and 7 are probably my favorite games of the series. Both are also the ones where the developers changed the gameplay so much so that they are entirely different games from the previous entries and somehow it all just worked.

Yes they 'changed the gameplay'....in four's case they turned it into a shooter...not at all what RE was supposed to be about and yes I agree, stunning game in spite of that...or maybe because....but it was barely Resident Evil...and what to say about seven?...Outlast...that's all I have to say about seven...a massive disappointment that many seem to be heralding as a 'return to form'...not too far away from the 'walking genre'. The best Resident Evil game is Resident Evil...Factgasm.

I love the survival horror genre! Only 2 games I can think of that really made me worry when I would start it up at night, and they were Outlast (1) and Resident Evil 7. So I definitely agree with your #1 pick.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was soo different from 4, 5, and 6 that I totally forgot I was playing Resident Evil it was a great change and definitely molded itself into the right direction

Resident Evil 7 is my favorite game. Been in love with it since I played it back in February. Makes you want to play more just to unlock the achievements and the DLC's are really fun. The first person perspective just adds to the horror of the game.

I totally agree with Outlast 2 and RE7 being on here but you put in... a game that just went into Beta a couple months ago, an early access game that probably won't reach final until 2018/19... 2 multiplayer games... and a game that shouldn't be counted among survival horror. - No mention of Prey which does a better job of being unsettling and disturbing than quite a lot of the entries not to mention very nice environment design and extremely well written story and sub-plots (even if the survival aspect at some points can be negligible as well as difficulty setting being about as bad as Skyrim's). No mention of The Evil Within 2... doing well there Gameranx.

Evil With 2 is technically a 2017 survival horror game and frankly you should have waited till the end of the year before deeming TEW2 not in the top ten survival horror games of 2017 list.

I wouldn't have added Hello Neighbor to the list because the last video I saw for the gameplay, on Harshly Critical's Channel, was the game is a troll game for the devs to make money for something that isn't worth it. It's a troll game, and that's all it seems to be. Unless the devs fix the game, and can prove it's not a troll game, then I won't be wasting my time, and money playing.

Never played a Resident Evil game before, apart from the beginning of the HD version made for PS4, but eventually ended up getting annoyed by the way the camera works. My sister and I started playing the demo for RE7 and were immediately hooked. We got the game a few days ago and finished it today, and it's such a great experience! It got us into the series, but still can't handle the camera in the original RE game (although I'll probably suck it up and end up playing it anyway).

Half of these games aren't "survival" horror games, they're just horror games, having to "survive" the game doesn't make it a survival game, otherwise most games including Half-life and Halo would be survival games A survival game is a game where, if you left your character in a safe place and stepped away from the controls, you'd eventually die, of cold, hunger, thirst, or whatever resource is required to keep you alive A survival horror game is the above with a horror theme, and they're awesome :D

Hello Neighbor is one of the strangest games for how much it has to offer, but how bad the experience can be. Key word there is can. It's a blast to play sure, but only for a few times before you want to progress and not wonder why the game has broken physics. In short, it can be a very worth while game, but you must play your cards right and have patience and learn from your mistakes. By the way, the Neighbor can be really buggy.

i'm not usually scared by horror games, but he's right. with headphones, Darkwood is too effing spooky. also the devs uploaded a torrent version for people who couldn't pay full price. that is commendable and a sign that they really want people to play their game, but i wonder how that'd hit their sales though.

I didn't find 4 anything like Resi. Wasn't scary and was annoying with Ashley. But as I said, it's merely my opinion. I don't like 4 and to me its as bad as 5 and 6. I respect your opinion however. You enjoyed it, then that's good. (^-^)

FairyCura I agree with the horror it wasn't anything like the rest of the series but the new mechanics they impalmented was a game changer In a good way. The the series went downhill with 5 and 6 they focused on too much action over horror.
