Thank you for the video. Kiyomizo-dera Temple and the golden pavilion (Kinkaku-ji Temple) must be definitely on the list. There are two of the most famous places not only in Kyoto but in Japan.

As almost all these sites are are in every tourist guide you will be there with huge crowds and even though they are interesting the experience could be disappointing. As there are so many wonderful shrines ,temples and gardens in Kyoto the experience of Kyoto will be much more satisfying if you avoid these sites and do a little research and find something where you don't have to deal with the overwhelming hoards of tourists . Many of the sites are like being in a crowded train during rush hour in Tokyo.

3-4 days should be more than enough. Main touristic places you can visit in two full days. Include another day for Nara and shopping at least.

I'm not super up to date but I believe that is just for specific areas of Gion. Main roads, streets, attractions, etc. are still open. You just have to avoid alleyways and roads where there are signs saying "no foreigners".

@@wo_w6640 yes, another channel blew it out of proportion. Mostly alleyways Geisha frequent. But still quite an area. Still fuming about the way tourists can't behave... (Japan added this kind of zone to a Fuji watch platform... For example because of People climbing on private buildings, to get better pictures...)
