The guy on password got what he deserved but he didn't really cheat on the show itself.
@bluebear1985
@bluebear1985 Жыл бұрын
I would say he cheated. While he did play the game well, he did kind of cheat by using an alias when making his appearance. Usually you would have to use your real name in order to get on a show. Also, it was kind of dumb for him to even appear in the first place. If I was on the run from the law, I would try and keep a low profile, not appear on a game show being broadcast on a major television network where anyone watching could see you.
@Magelog490
@Magelog490 Жыл бұрын
@@bluebear1985 I don't think using a fake name would count as cheating. It's not like he was standing in for the person he took the name from, he just didn't wanted to tell his name. If he weren't a wanted criminal I bet the show wouldn't have cared at all if the name he gave them was on his birth certificate.

@@Magelog490 Gotta agree. Using a fake name didn't give him any advantage in winning, or disadvantage other players. It was just a bad attempt at going undetected on national television. Silly, but didn't cheat the game.

The thing with donaghy is that he’a not the only ref that does this, he literally happened to get caught because the fbi was investigating the mob in a completely different matter. The fact that at the time he was also considered in the top 10% of officials as far as getting calls right is concerned means that 90% of the other ones do it even more blatantly or they are worse officials than a guy who’s actually fixing games. Crazy to think about.

The same thing seems to happen in all major American sports. Whenever you start getting close to the end of the quarter/inning/period, there are always questionable calls going on that don't change who wins or loses, but definitely impact those who place bets, because those bets include the a point spread. To a lesser extent the calls will also affect the over/under. Most fans just want their team to win and don't waste a lot of time thinking about the 6.5 point spread on the book, so it goes pretty much unnoticed. It just seems like damn near every game in every sport goes fine for all but the last 5 minutes when the officiants start blowing whistles to keep the results the most friendly to the sports book.

#5, they made a film that dramatized it in 1994 called "Quiz Show" You can't forget about "The Dating Game Killer", Rodney Alcala. Or the time Big Mac himself, Mark McGwire, admitted to doping. My heart broke because I had idolized the guy up until then!

OK, let's dial it back a notch or two: Big Mac was famous for hitting 700 homeruns in his time with the St. Louis Cardinals (even I idolised him) ; he had a guest voice on the "Simpsons" episode "Brother's Little Helper", he endorsed the McDonald's Big Mac, he had an entire section named in his honour at the first Busch Stadium, etc, so imagine what it's like to have your idol admit in a court of law that those homeruns were ill-gotten. Compared to what Sosa did, in which he admitted he right off the bat made a mistake instead of letting the lie perpetuate, it's a mosquito bite compared to a bullet wound.

Funny part about Lance's case is if you look it up LARGE PORTIONS of Tour de France cyclists doped around that time and prior to all of that. Only after what happened to Lance did the organizers seem to give a crap, and now the OVER 50% of cyclists doping has been reduced to around 4%. But Lance, being the dominant winner of 7 of them, caught all the flak. He also passed all those drug tests and got around all the investigations for YEARS. Something always seemed off about the whole thing to me.

I get the lure of big-name athletes cheating, but what I never understood was the timing. Most of the ones that get caught are usually caught towards the end of their careers or when it starts winding down. At this point, the money is usually not an issue, and it's more pride at that point. If you're not able to compete on the level as your competitors anymore without cheating, it's time to call the career quits and retire.

well Olympic athlete is not really the most lucrative career. Just because they cheated it doesn't mean they have abilities beyond what an average joe does, so when they cheat is usually not about the money but the achievement and recognition which explains why they have a tough time stopping.

The reason they never retroactively gave those 7 medals to the cyclist who came 2nd, 3rd, etc is because they were all found to be doping and they could not find a single clean cyclist in those years. People use 'actor' for both men and women.

@@allyce8175 Which people? This has been a recent attempt to once again blur the distinction between men and women. The way we went from waiter and waitress to server. And stewards and stewardesses to flight attendants. No thank you. I won’t have my language changed on me in pursuit of an agenda. This smacks of Orwell’s Big Brother using propaganda to control people. No one asked my permission to begin lumping actors and actresses together as ”actors” and I will call it out whenever I encounter it.

In addition to Steroids, Armstrong was a jerk. One time he approached by a handicapped kid, who said he looked up to him; but Armstrong just brushed him aside.

They’re all pretty bad but the one what sticks out is the lance armstrong one at the time it was absolutely huge I mean all the people what have lost out on possible moments of glory and to leave a mark in their sport which they have dedicated their life to and to have someone cheat must be devastating for him to say he would do it again just proves how selfish he is the worst part about the Armstrong thing was they knew about it long before he was actually outed.

Dude, everyone did it. Even to this day, he is the only one who got banned because he had the most wins, but that doesn't mean he was the only one doing it. My dad is still a fan of him and he's an avid cyclist. He watched all of Lance's interviews and continues to listen to his yearly podcasts on each Tour. The guy has no reason to still lie, and yet he still says "Everyone did it and I would do it again" because he loves the sport and wanted to be competitive.
@FoxxyFire-HellFrost
@FoxxyFire-HellFrost Жыл бұрын
@@marycanary It isn't. The fact is that he was the one who got a ban and none of the other dopers did. He had natural talent, it wasn't just the drugs. That's why he won despite being on an even playing field.

You should have switched and made Loughlin the title. Huffman plead guilty for a lighter sentence. While Loughlin wasted taxpayer money by going through a whole trial.

@@haydendecker6766 No, it needs to be prison. Then whenever she applies for any job, even acting, she has to answer "Yes" to the question, "Have you ever been to prison? And if so, what for?" In some states you don't have to do that if you go to "jail".

The second guy didn't cheat at the game to win so that's a bit of a stretch. He comitted fraud by using a false name but that isn't the same as cheating to win. Seems his meeting with justice was outside of being cheater.

True victory lies not in the cunning stratagems of deceit, but in the noble pursuit of excellence with integrity. To deceive in sport is to deceive oneself, for the greatest triumphs are earned through honesty and honor, not through the shadow of deceit." - Marcus Aurelius
