Jon Stewart is a brilliant rhetorician and often hilarious. BUT, he is also frequently a bit disingenuous and uses his "powers" to advance a particular bias in a way that, IMO, is sometimes unfair. I loved watching the Daily Show and respect him greatly but watching him more recently, I wish he would more evenly poke holes in all the positions of our great debates. Once, he was the thoughtful, playful observer who lived above all the gamesmanship. That was a decade ago, but still, I'm glad he is around.

Imagine you're running a yard sale and you only have a jacket that the price you advertised was $5. Well you get 2 people who want to buy it, 1 offers the initial $5 to buy it, but the 2nd person offers you $6 to buy it. Who do you sell it to? Either buyer will still give you the profit you wanted but 1 buyer will give you a better profit. You didn't inflate anything, the 2nd buyer did.
