it’s crazy that this has less then 1k views, especially as how large the market for home gym is, quality content. Keep it up!

Great advice. How long did it take you to accumulate everything?

Thanks! Like many people, I started in 2020 due to gym closures. I'm still adding. I want to eventually have a whole commercial level gym at home. Lol

I'm not seeing the links for the other videos or purchase links you mentioned. I'm sure it might be me, but can you tell me where to look? Nvm, snake would have bit me haha!

If you’re getting both dumbbells and barbell, make sure both are the same diameter (1inch or 2inch sleeves) so that you can use the same plates across both rather than having to buy two sets of plates

That's an excellent tip for a budget home gym. I'd definitely recommend going for 2 inch diameter on both vs 1 inch diameter on both.

@@RyanTreadaway 100% - I have some old 1 inch plates laying around from back in the day, but all my latest weights and bb/handles are 2 inch - weights are weights but they just feel better, not sure why!

@@amarh111 true and true! Plus, almost all 2 inch barbells have a higher weight capacity than almost all 1 inch barbells.

@@amarh111 If you have 1 inch handles around, I think you can buy 2 inch adapters to use with it. Not sure about the stability tho.

Buy nice, or buy twice.

That's exactly right! I've always heard "buy once, cry once". I had never heard it the way you said it until just a few days ago. I think I now like "buy nice, or buy twice" better. Haha

Whilst I agree, I do think it’s very easy to go overboard and pump money into the most expensive option without thinking about what you actually need (… talking from experience!). I think you need to have some base of knowledge of your needs first before you dive in, and then absolutely get something of quality.
