If forced to, shoot the enemies' legs that will be either blown away Dead Space-style, reducing dangerous mobility and perhaps kill them from the massive blood loss. If the leg is still intact, run up to the poor sap for the bullet-saving melee kill. The legs are not obligatory either, anywhere to stun then close-quarter kill but again removing their ability to move especially on faster enemies is strategically smart! Useful as hell during Abby's siege sequence.

This will sound like a bad idea but trust me...NO HEALTH KITS. Youre gonna take a ton of damage no matter what, most enemies only need 1-2 hits max to put you down, get better at sneaking, and save those resources for molotovs and literally anything else. You'll have more reources and gear as a result. Make health kits to make space for inventory at least.
@rexrosal18634 жыл бұрын
Awesome video, Gweilo Ren. Hey, I have a pretty cool tip that you may enjoy and/or may help other gamers who are planning on playing the TLOU2 on Grounded difficulty. In Ellie's Hillcrest mission (Seattle day 2), there is a basement in one of the stores (Goldstar Liquor) that has some ammo/supplies and 2 shamblers. In that same level, across the street behind the Shear Lux salon store, there is a garage (8:57 in your video) that has 5 Runners and a safe with supplies inside. If you go into the Goldstar Liquor store basement first and leave, 3 (I think 4 on Grounded) Runners will appear on the street. Here's the tip. If you kill the 5 Runners (1 molotov cocktail will kill all 5 inside) who are trapped in the garage first and then raid the the liquor store second, the 3-4 additional Runners will not appear. This is not a big deal if you're playing on lower difficulties but for gamers who are playing on Grounded, depending on how skilled/resourceful they are, may not want to use bullets/resources on those additional Runners. So any players who need the Goldstar Liquor ammo/supplies but don't want to deal with the additional Runners, first kill the 5 Runners trapped in the garage and then raid the Goldstar basement second. Naughty Dog were sneaky by placing the Goldstar Liquor store close to the where the player starts in that level so gamers will instinctively search the Liquor store first instead of the garage which is further away. Anyways, hope this helps anyone planning on playing Grounded difficulty.
@GweiloRen4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, Rex! Wow, how'd you work this one out? That's actually really cool. I've always dealt with the runners in the safe and then go to the liquor store second so I've never seen this myself. But that's very useful! I never would've noticed
@rexrosal18634 жыл бұрын
I was playing the level on Grounded and the Runners (both the 5 trapped in the garage and the ones that appear after the basement raid) are very, very hard to stealth melee kill. There is a lot of open space in that level so sneaking behind them is very difficult. After many, many, many times of being spotted and restarting the checkpoint, I just decided to kill the Runners trapped in the garage first and then raid the Goldstar liquor store because I knew the game gives you a checkpoint when you get to the Nursery store which is how you get out of the basement. If I had to restart the Nursery checkpoint for whatever reason, I didn't have to deal with the Runners in the garage as I already killed them. It's just easy to restart a checkpoint in which half of the Runners are already dead instead of restarting the whole level and having to kill them all over again. But anyways, I jumped from the Nursery window and I didn't see the additional Runners. I searched in every store, behind the stores, behind the cars, etc, etc, etc and they didn't show up. Just to make sure it wasn't a glitch, I restarted the section and did the same thing, kill the garage Runners first and then raid the liquor store, and they didn't show. Also, as you played Grounded mode yourself, you know you have to pay very close attention as to how many enemies are in a level. When the 3-4 additional Runners didn't show up, that definitely got my attention because I was already anticipating them.
@rexrosal18634 жыл бұрын
I have another cool tip but it's very, very trivial and I'd be surprised if anyone even uses it. You can move dead bodies and hide them. Humans of course as infected enemies don't care. If you go prone, you can push the dead bodies and hide them from other members of their faction. It can sometimes be difficult to move because the bodies bend and sometimes get caught on to things. When I killed human enemies in the open, I prone pushed/hid their bodies in grass, behind walls/desks/cars, pushed them over skyscraper ledges (Abby's mission), etc, etc, etc. The purpose? When enemies see a dead body of one of their own, they go into search mode and this makes it more difficult to stealth melee kill them because they are more alert and are out of their normal passive walking routine. I hid a lot of dead bodies in Grounded mode because the longer the enemies are in passive mode, the easier it is for me to stealth melee kill them all. Taking the time to push and hide dead bodies prevents confrontation and saves you bullets/resources. Especially helpful in Grounded mode. * You cannot hide dead bodies in water. The body will sink for a few seconds and then rise to the top. Enemies do take notice and go into alert mode.
@GweiloRen4 жыл бұрын
@@rexrosal1863 - Wow, I would've never considered moving the dead bodies. I always tried to get the enemies in areas hidden so when I killed them, they stayed hidden. Like you said, when the enemies get alerted, you're up shit creek without a paddle. But that's very good to know, Rex! I'll try that out at some stage

Hi Cloudy, I know what you're talking about. In one of the streams I did, same thing occurred. If you place the bomb too close to the door, then it glitches. Here’s a tip to handle infected shoot them in the leg and then run up and do a melee attack, as for shamblers , I recommend just throwing 2 Molotov’s or the bombs abby uses and a heavy weapon like rifle or shotgun should kill them easily. Clickers can’t see you so on grounded I recommend just go prone and crawl towards them but do it slowly but this only depends on what difficulty you are on. As for human AI they are extremely smart i recommend taking them out only when you absolutely have to, and if you get spotted you should use the environment to your advantage and you should try to run away and establish your stealth again most of the encounters are passable without killing though.
@donezo1164 жыл бұрын
I shot them in the legs all the time on tlou part1, easy kills. Especially right at the door guarded by all the fireflies. Not sure why I forgot about it on this one. Silencer on and leg shot is a good move! Subbed!

@Iskkskskwklskllalpwpw Жыл бұрын
My tips: Get the momentum upgrade as soon as you can.(Abby) 2:1 ratio for med kits and Molotovs but if you have 2 med kits craft a Molotov before a med kit(Ellie) Everyone knows about Ellie’s plunge auto kill but no one knows/talks about Abby’s? Also if you have momentum it counts as a strike. It works on runners and human enemies. Idk about clickers. It’s very useful for the coast and the forest. As Ellie if you get noticed by a human enemy you can strike and auto kill them in that second, but sneak away after. This also works on runners. But going back into stealth from infected is way harder so be careful. Another tip is prone slamming( I don’t have a better name for it) when running from enemies when you’re close to tall grass hold circle or the crouch button. You’ll fall into prone immediately.

videos like these are usually not helpful to me, since ive played part 1 on grounded multiple times and my gaming style is full on stealth so i know a thing or two, and many youtubers mention the same basic tricks. but your tips were actually very helpful!! the 2/3 med kits is soooo true. like i always max up everything on my inventory, and then they give you plenty of kits throughout the game. the planning ahead is very veryy useful too. thanks

I’m not through with it yet but as of day 2 Seattle with Ellie, I will say the Grounded+ AI companion is quite useful. Dina got me out of so many jams on day one. The Bank, Eastbrook, Capitol Hill, etc. I’m playing Grounded+ on my own and regular Grounded with someone else and on that playthrough we made it to day 3 with Ellie. I don’t remember the AI being as good there so I do think there is legitimately a difference between Grounded and plus.

Granted I did die a lot, it is grounded+ after all but she was helpful when I played through. I died once in the bank, she got one of the clickers there the second time. Capitol Hill she got two WLF’s and a clicker outside of the bookstore and another clicker in the spot where you get the card. At eastbrook she got two guys who were stopping me from getting to the roof. Maybe the AI truly is just random and I got lucky. That’s also a possibility.

My advices for completing Grounded difficulty level.. make sure you have mastered dodging and stealth first.. @sophiabeebeeboo45792 жыл бұрын
I tried beating this game on grounded last year and was doing really well uo until the last fight with Ellie and the bloater in the arcade. A lot of it had to do with the fact that I didn’t effectively save my ammo and bombs like the Molotov and pipe bomb. So I practiced a lot with completing the game by trying to use the least amount of ammo or none at all throughout the game, and instead just do stealth. This indeed worked and I had just enough to defeat that part and move onto Abby’s section. Using the least amount of resources and only using them when you need to is key to accomplishing this game on grounded.

Great work on persisting!

do you have any tips for that part with ellie and the bloater? i did. my first play through of the second one on hard difficulty about a month ago and decided to jump straight to grounded because it felt too easy and i always had too much supplies and left a lot behind I’m so scared for the bloater parts tho because even on hard i spent a good half hour to an hour killing them
@sophiabeebeeboo4579 Жыл бұрын
@@Nita-qu7wd I guess I would suggest to practice doing stealth in encounters on grounded and getting as many supplies as you can while avoiding as much combat as you can (thus using less supplies and weapons) Then after practicing, actually do it in the game so you can already have an idea of what to do. By having as many supplies as you can will increase your chances of surviving that part. This is at least what I did and it really helped. So I hope that’s helpful for you!

I think the aiming while crouching stealth trick was a bug that got fixed. I'm playing Grounded for the first time and have tried a bunch of different ways to use it and I either get no speed increase or I get heard right as I'm within grabbing distance. Also, even if I don't restart the checkpoint manually, it often respawns me with really low health anyway. Not always

It's a pain, but i love it!) i'm yet on my way to the TV station so far). Seen a comment here about the bank, and i can also recommend picking runners (3 of them in the area) melee one by one, each time after a kill running back to the entrance, then the rest two clickers are easy to deal with. Amazing tip on laying mines before the encounters, gonna try soon;) I'll definately come back to check you're next video on the dogs! Thumbs up!
