Once I discovered that finishing move animations are not interrupted by enemies, the game became much easier.

by the way at 5:35 (i know im late cause im typing this in 2021) but you can stealth that whole part and wont have to worry about the amount of runners and clickers that spawn. im excellent at stealth so i did all of this and skipped the whole scene, and even if you skip it and open the front door the clickers on the top of the door wont spawn. just a tip i thought was helpful but be careful approaching certain runners or clickers, doding foward wont make as much noise but helps to get to somewhere fast in stealth. the clickers wont mind your doing this so dont be afraid of doing it with clickers because they dont instantly see you and you can just stealth them quite easy.

There is an option in the menu that can let you use your controller motion as aiming, it basically makes u a mouse and keyboard player

I played 2 times thinking that Bloaters kills you if you're near them. Watching you kill them with the knife was :O

I like these little tips/list videos, also I can't wait to see your stream because I'll be able to see it this time!! Good Encounters to practice dodging: (Spoilers for TLOU2 under Read More) -Supermarket (if you really want) -Gondola Station -Courthouse Garage -Conference Center -The Beach Something I noticed after watching this video is Stalkers do that little push thing when you melee them, Abby and human enemies do that too. When they push you away, it's probably good to wait for them to attack before you start attacking again. WLF enemies will usually swing at you even if they have a pistol since you're in melee range.

I'm with that, Marius. There's been so many encounters where I wanted to conserve my melee weapon but obviously that gets preference over the knife. Here's hoping we see that feature in a future title

I think it goes without saying that mashing the square button to attack is the same as if you press the button harder it will kill ‘Em faster.

I've doing basic L1 to dodge the dogs and that's worked just fine for me. Usually melee immediately after. But I can see how the dive dodge would be good in certain situations. But yeah dodging dogs is a game changer! I'm not afraid of them anymore unless they sneak up on me or there's people around. I never considered dodging when enemies try to shoot so I gotta try that!

It would be so cool and way crazier if the infected could effectively mob you and just jump on you versus taking turns attacking you. It would make encounters way more tense and calculative .

Edit 2: after changing my timing, my direction, no direction, type of dodge rather than the basic l1 I usually do for this encounter, trying to rely on Lev etc etc *and then* changing the dodge button several times and changing the controller for dodge still not to work when faced with 2 or more, it only got worse with my dodge working only half the time at all- but after my umpteenth time dieing I died again but, strangely, possibly spontaneously (stalkers were all around me but nobody had made contact)- and upon the next reload it all just... suddenly went back to normal and I could dodge just as well as I remember- so I moved on very quickly after that. What a bizarre experience. I really can't understand what happened here. It was all like an Abby's bad trip/worst nightmare style encounter if anything- especially when I swear I thought I saw one come out of the ground from beneath me and after so many reloads sometimes the stalkers wouldn't come at all- I could only hear them all around me. But now after it getting more... almost... corrupted after each reload - it's like... nothing happened. Like it never happened- how surreal. I'll keep the original text but thank goodness it seemed to be a very strange... anomaly if anything? ---- At the forest stalker scene now. I've noticed that l1 dodging suddenly seems to break when two or more are coming at me- I press the dodge button (sometimes 3 or more times- I've tried spacing it too) and it literally doesn't respond even when one or both have entered range. It's very frustrating. It's annoying enough for two to come from behind while you're fighting one or you dodge out of sight or have nowhere to dodge without the button not even working- and another variant of the problem is that I'm dodging one only to get grabbed by another, to free myself and not be 'allowed' to dodge for several moments where I am vulnerable to attack. It's strange because I'm only one difficulty up from last play and I never had this problem. What am I doing wrong? Or is it bad luck? It can't possibly be that much bad luck- can it? If anyone is looking at this and scratching their head- maybe I'm getting rubbish in my old age (or am the victim of a strangely specific curse) :/ Edit: enhanced dodge makes it easier to deal with when I can dodge but the problem is still apparent- I can't dodge when there are two or more. It means death is pretty much certain for me when I'm blocked by two against the car. So what am I missing? Since nobody else seems to have this problem it must be me- right?

Firstly, that was a very interesting read. You practically typed out a whole series of your adventure 😆 It sounds like a real pain in the ass, whatever was happening. I can't say I personally have run into this issue myself, it sounds glitched but it consistently happens which is odd? Usually, glitches fix themselves right away. With Stalkers in particular, I always steer clear of environmental placements such as cars to allow freedom of directional dodging. If two come at once, try using the thumbstick to motion backwards whilst clicking dodge at the same time. I've got clips where I've dodged two - three attacks in one dodge, I haven't uploaded them though. Does this help? If not, feel free to let me know. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you got past it!

Honestly tlou 1 melee was super easy, runners and humans would just be stun locked so it was a guarantee kill. But yea if get surrounded it's game over cuz my boi joel is to old to doge

My main concern right now is while practicing on grounded for grounded permadeath I'm at the abby stalker fight where you only have a hammer. I don't really have any problem dodging or fighting the stalkers. My main problem is every once and a while lev will just die to a stalker attack w/o any warning or + sign above him. As far as I can tell it's just random? I'm not too far away when it happens as well as it doesn't seem like its from a stalker hes been struggling with for a while or anything. Any idea if there is a way to avoid this? It wouldn't matter on grounded but on permadeath its game over.
