5:27 I actually suggest not waking with the morning sun. Dawn is the coldest part of the day, so unless you're playing on Voyageur or Pilgrim, you'll quickly get Hypothermia risk if you try to travel in the morning. Even on Voyageur, you'll be too cold if you don't have good clothing. I suggest that you not start traveling until the sun in the top right has completely cleared the "horizon", maybe even later. Otherwise you'll just end up having to stop somewhere to warm up anyway, which may cost you a match if you can't find shelter. Better for long-term resource conservation to start and end your days later.

i think one good tip when travelling long distance or short distance is to keep your guard up and keep your gun / flare gun up and reloaded at all times so you can be ready to dispatch any threat that ambushes you, it saved my many times, and when i didnt apply this tip it cost me dearly

The snow shelter is a great idea. I carry a bedroll everywhere but that requires an indoor area most times to not freeze. If you’re trying to go ultra lightweight for big haul trips, this snow shelter idea is a banger.

6:53 That's not correct. A bedroll only weighs 1kg, but the 15 sticks alone weigh 2.25kg, with another 0.5kg from the cloth. The 2.75kg is lighter than a bearskin bedroll, which I'm hoping is what you meant.
