The one that is valuable is sort of a factory error. There were very few that came out 2 or 3 sades darker than they were supposed to. I don't know how difficult it would actually be though to tell the difference unless you could put it side by side with the regular ones.

I keep meaning to go to garage sales, estate sales or thrift stores regularly. On eBay, there is more of a chance that someone has researched what they are selling, whereas in those other places, a lot of people are just cleaning out attics, etc., for whatever reason and don't really know what they have.

Most English speakers I know of butcher TY. >_> I literally have never heard it pronounced 'Tie', in the last 20-ish years. Everyone I've ever met or who has talked about them says T-Y. So that's one that I don't think we should expect any english speaker to get correct unless they actually grew up around people who pronounced it 'tie'. As for mattel. Well...... It's a good thing I'm never hung up on how people pronounce words or I'd be more critical of that.

I have a TY bear with a Pompey (Portsmouth FC) logo on it from when they were our shirt Sponsors. It is in a plasic box with a certificate of creation and was signed by our then owner Milan Mandric. I think they used the same Royal blue material for some (as Portsmouth FC play in royal blue) but mine is white. Obviously not worth much but as a Pompey fan it has incredible sentimental value to me.
