I like how you put out the video. Your voice is pleasing, and your demeanor is rather pleasant and friendly. Not a hint of condescension or sarcasm, found in one or two previous narrators. And none of the nervousness you may be feeling at what I would surmise is a more recent addition to this channel. There has come across from a narrator or two nervousness approaching close to quaking in one’s shoes

Thanks Shannon! @1:43 - The story about the $500,00 found during renovations of a home purchased "as is". I can't imagine how the court could have sided with the previous owner's daughter on this one! When you purchase a house "as is", then you are taking the chance that there may be a ton of damage that go beyond what can be ascertained with a basic inspection. You take that risk. That risk goes both ways. If there is something of value in the home, then it generally goes to the new home owners. I don't know what the laws are in their state. But I do know that to me, it's infuriating that the courts cheated the homeowners! 😠

My guess is she had some form of documentation that gave her rights over it. It was probably more in depth than we know about. For example an old will that bequeathed all the finances to the daughter, meaning the money was already under claim.

Simon Whistler hosted several years; Karl Smallwood has a stint, then Eric (that’s when I stopped watching); I believe this gal is the founder’s daughter (he passed away and some confusion ensued about the hosting).

It's unlikely that the note in the bottle had anything to do with Shea Stadium. The note was written in 1896 - 68 years before Shea Stadium opened. In fact, it was written 11 years before William Shea (for whom the stadium is named) was even born.

Much better narrator than the other guy! Not everything is a spooky monotone store! Lol... I'm sure he was good at scary stores but she is way better for top 10! Plus I'm pretty sure she has always been part of the channel.

I would have turned the whole house into a hive, imagine the wealth from the honey and beeswax. Great set, seriously funny stuff. I moved into a place with a friend who happens to be 1 week younger then me. My friend had bought a house, I was to renovate the basement from plans to construction. During the removal of ceiling a stack of cigarette packs falls out, all flat. They were Players, so had calendars on the back and they were all from our year. 1969, July. One pack of the 20 or so had 2 cigarettes in it. We smoked them. Wonder how rare it is to have smoked a smoke from the year you were born.

@@ToptenzNettop10 I love your channel! I began watching when Simon was hosting it, and saw your video explaining his absence after he left. That whole situation just broke my heart for everybody, especially you. It made me want to reach through the screen and give you a big hug and remind you that this, too, shall pass. I could feel your pain. That being said, I know that Simon has several channels he's hosting and projects he's involved in, but I've always been curious if you were able to stay in touch. He hosted for so long and I just hope that in the end you could maintain a friendship. But, like I said, I know that he's involved in a bunch of other things, so I could totally see if he were just too busy to maintain contact. I was just wondering. No matter what happens, I will always hope for the best for you in your personal life and all of your endeavors. That video of you really hit home for me and every once in a while you pop in my head and I hope you're doing well. I hope to hear something back. 🥰

I agree, however, I watched a couple of videos on one of his other channels and couldn't even make it through the whole videos because he kept straying way off topic. I mean, pausing for an anecdote once in a while is fine, but he did it so often and they were so long that I couldn't get into the actual subject of the video. Or, on a couple when I was into the subject, I would get so frustrated because of him stopping and leaving the audience hanging that I just had to turn it off. Now, I don't know anything about making KZbin videos, so I don't know if that was more about the editing, or solely on him. And Karl seemed sweet and I initially hoped that his British accent would make it an easier transition from Simon to him, but that didn't happen for me. I have no idea why Karl never felt right here and I can't point to a single thing about him that I didn't like (maybe a little juvenile, but I have 3 adult boys and am very comfortable around juvenile humor in young men) Anyway, all of this rambling to say, I agree with you. I have no idea why Karl didn't seem to fit, but I never saw any video with Eric. Since I still love the channel I am holding out hope that Shannon will find a host that fits the channel just as well as Simon did.
