I like bringing either Skull or Cockroach Poker. Both small games for travel, but very fun.

I’m staring a board game travel agency. We’ll organize tours on the cities that are feature in games and at the end we’ll sit down at a cafe/restaurant and play the game. First tour is going to be a walking 2Hr tour of the city of San Juan in PR… wait for my KS next month.

Yeah Cribbage! It’s a must play when the family gets together. Point Salad and Just One are great choices too!

Good to see Deep Sea Adventure on there. I actually win a fair bit. Points are points; if you're so greedy you can't get back, you can't get points. So I turn back once the greedy players start huffing air on their second/third treasure many times lol. I can still pick up/drop as i go back up anyway, which also ensures their pricey treasures are less likely to see daylight...

You missed my favorite travel game for roadtrips: Legacy of Dragonholt. It's perfect for when you want something that feels like a deeply thematic tabletop game, yet with no need for a table. Even the driver can play!

Zombie Dice! A push-your-luck game. Lot of fun. Fast and short games. Works well with some of my famiiy members that don't have much game stamina 🙂

I want Long Shot the Dice Game - would be a hit with my friends! I'm gonna snag one of these days. Just One, Tussie Mussie, SCOUT and Botanik are my go to travel games.

Perfect timing! I'm going on vacation in a few weeks. This will be my first vacation since getting into the hobby and I'm trying to get some games together to take.

Another great travel game I take is saboteur. Haven’t seen it talked about much but really great game from what I’ve tried so far!

I am intrigued by Castles of Burgundy the dice game because the board game version is a top 10 of our group. Two of my go to travel games are Fantasy Realms and Citadels. Both very portable, can play large player counts and take little table space.

Haggis and Regicide are my current favorite standard deck games. Haggis is not a "classic" but it does have that classic rummy and trick taking feel. Both go easy on the table space so good choices for travel.

I always have Onirim with me when I'm traveling since it's my favorite small solo game (taking my old first edition copy if I'm packing really light). Definitely agree with Point Salad and Just One for when I know I'll be around "non-gamers". And then Silver & Gold will probably be my go-to travel *flip* and write since I've recently gotten my own copy of that. Other than that, I try to drive my van as often as possible for travel so virtually anything can be a travel game for me!

I am sure there are a lot of good button shy games that would also be great but I would recommend Stew. It is a push your luck game of chicken and plays 2-4.

Depending on how much space I have in my luggage, when I travel next month I plan on taking a few games. So far, my shortlist is Radlands, Arboretum, and Hidden Leaders. I gotta leave some space for games I buy in the states 🤣

CoB Dice Game: Do you play with the rule that you can only use one ability (Monk, Worker, etc) per roll?
@bryanstarke13132 жыл бұрын
I paused at 18:58 and saw the COB card had 88 total points! They filled in 36 of the 37 spaces. The maximum number of turns in the game is 30, and it's fewer if you ever sell blue goods (which requires a double hour glass). So I'm deeply skeptical of that score. Separately, I never limit myself to one bonus per turn. Feels to restrictive and it's more fun for me with more mitigation. But I once had a solo game where my first 6 rolls were unusable and I just got worker after worker. That wasn't fun. Top right castle: never again.
@thwilee2 жыл бұрын
If you have a worker, then you should have something to do by the second turn, unless you never rolled an orange, yellow, or purple (possible for sure)…tough luck! I concur though, we throw out that rule as well. I think the people who really like CoBtdg often do. Then others who don’t like it find it too constricting (possibly because they follow the one bonus during a roll restriction).
