I like Hanabi, really interesting co-op card game in which everyone holds their cards *backwards*. That's right, you don't know the cards in your own hand, but you know everyone else's. You take your turn communicating with the other teammates, and if they remember all of their information properly, play cards in a sequence needed to win.

Oink Games have some of the best little quick games out there. My favorite is Maskmen which is a Lucha Libre inspired game. It's one of those kind of games that reading the instructions make it seem super confusing, but as soon as it clicks for you it's super quick, easy, and a lot of fun.

The only one among my light travel games that I don't think have been featured on this channel before would be Hanabi! Quite an excellent little cooperative game. I'd like to give an extra shout-out to the games that are not just portable but are able to be played in any kind of transport when gaming tables might not be readily available. A lot of trivia games are quite good for this.

Good list. Qwixx is my favorite Yahtzee replacement. There is virtually no down time between turns because you can score off other players roll. I can see the appeal of Harvest Dice however, it actually has a theme. My other travel favorites are Sushi Go, Love Letter, Abandon All Artichokes. The smallest game I own is Mint Works, and its not bad!

Pretty late to the party, but for travels my family's tradition is to carry a spanish-suited deck to play a variety of games. It was also the way to go for playing in school haha

A couple I always take now are: 10" to Kill (10 Minutes to Kill) - hidden movement assassination game. Hand luggage sized. Dead Man's Draw - Push your luck card game. pocket sized. Exploding Kittens - surely no intro needed. Pocket sized. Dice of Crowns - dice combo game (not sure if this has a proper game style name). Pocket sized.

The Lady & The Tiger 5 different games in small box using same deck of cards one solo, two 2 player, one 2-4p and one 2-6 player. Skull King is great 2-6p trick taking that small box and very little space required. Ohanami, Mint Works, Coin Age, OMG! , Tybor The Builder, Travel Qwirkle, Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies, Dodekka and Mijnlieff

My favorite travel game is fiasco. You need the book, a pencil, paper and a couple trays of d6ses. And with that you get an amazing RP/improv experience you might talk about for years to come.

I need to try The Crew. A lot of people have recommended it!
@unlimitedrabbit3 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, The Crew: Mission Deep Sea has a better mechanic for goals than The Crew: Quest for Planet Nine. Its difficulty increases faster so be prepared for a steeper learning curve. Just have your party agree to play up to, say, Mission 3. This will take pressure off of your crewmates who, after finishing Mission 3 will either be up for playing something else or (and this is how you know you've got them hooked) they'll stop you from putting the cards away and ask if you could all play until Mission 5 or higher. It gets tougher but if you've got a hardy crew, they'll relish the challenge.

Me and my family have a travel box that is filled with nothing but trivia cards (mostly Scene It cards) and solo puzzle games. Second Chance looks like a fun fit though.

A recent game that I received from a Kickstarter which is a wonderful travel game is Death Valley. The total game is 25 cards and easily fits into any pocket you have. It is a Press Your Luck game where you are gathering sightseeing spots from a national park to accumulate points but if you accumulate too many of anyone kind you bust at lose points

If I played The crew, that'd be my very first trick taking game ever. I also wanna try The fox in the forest. For now, I've only tried draft games and deckbuilding.
@caspiansvensson Жыл бұрын
The fox in the forest reminds me of a card game with regular cards we often play on vacation that we call "Starve the fox". I'm sure it's not specific to Sweden. It goes sth like this: Two or more players divide the deck between them, one player begins and whatver colour his card has is the fox card and then we go round the table and play the card from the top of our individual deck (usually it goes fast around and around) until someone plays a card with the same colour, that person wins all the cards and get to play the new fox card, and then the chase to get all the cards on the table starts again... The aim is to starve all the other players and have the entire deck to yourself. It usually takes half the night. Children can play as well. There are no special tricks that I know of.

I love that "pocket size" still means Men's pocket size. Women's pockets (if they are not fake) are tiny!!!
@sorceressferaly40263 жыл бұрын
At least being forced to carry a handbag for basics - as all pockets are too small or fake to be useful - gives some potential for carrying games!
@slothdance20203 жыл бұрын
@@sorceressferaly4026 I tend to take a pack pack, so I usually have a game on me if I am going any where with at least one other person. the trains where I live have tables with chairs facing them so we play a lot of games on trains.
@theboardgameguy872 жыл бұрын
1) You just had to make this about gender right? 2) Purses and handbags. 3) As if anyone could go around carrying a game in a pocket. Pocket game is just a way of saying they are small, like pocket books. Really... give it a rest.

They are actually pretty big though, and they have lots of little peices that I wouldn't want to lose while on vacation or a train.
@TheQrstOne3 жыл бұрын
@@abhikan7654, okay, on a train, i can understand. Do you mean that they're big in the box or that they have a big footprint on the table?
@richmccann20523 жыл бұрын
Are tiny epic games not in the UK? I never see them mentioned and I feel they would fit a lot of lists. This one maybe cause the boxes are small but the game does need a table.
