Divine wrath is also more versatile than Pulling the Rug. Pulling the rug is exclusively a side deck card, but if your deck doesn’t mind discarding (like the ones Keegan mentioned as well as QuickDraw perhaps), I could totally see Divine Wrath in the main.

Fiend Comedian is one of the best traps in the format. Call it right and your opponent banishes all the monsters in grave. Call it wrong and you mill that number of monsters. It’s a win-win as coin flips go and you can chain it to cards like avarice or debris to try and get extra mileage off it.

I played Elphin in my Vayu Turbo deck during the European Nationals Ultimate Time Wizard event and it was really, really good in ALL of the mirror matches I had. People usually laughed it off after seeing it milled or pitched with Grepher, but as soon as they realized it makes me able to run over all their Caius and Armed Wings, basically skipping a step with the Armed Wings that usually makes you go into Armor Masters, their faces went blank. Elphin is definitly slept on!

This convinced me, Im putting Assailant into my QD side deck! Another small bonus it has is Skill Drain Immunity (unlike Warrior Lady) so it can even work against stun decks!

Apprentice Magician can get Crystal Seer out of the deck. It's an alternative to Old Vindictive Magician, where instead of trying to make your opponent go -1, you make yourself go +1.

i played one divine wrath in my zombie deck for a long time. stopping gorz is so fun. for underrated cards i also nominate: fobidden chalice (stop ryko/hamster) , and offerings to the doomed. raigeki style card that is a quick spell

A card that I have yet to see played anywhere that I think has really good sideboard applications for lightsworn or decks abusing Ryko. Shiny Black C it's a tad situational but can work nicely against the Dandy, Dva, and Blackwing list that force Synchros more often.

Got a chance to play Edison irl, so I'm dusting off my old cards. I took in my copies of Divine Wrath, Asura's Priest, Jinzo and Malevolent Catastrophe because I saw value in these. If you make something water based, I feel like Abyss Soldier is still a good card. It was semi’d in goat format, sinister serpent is gone but the bounce is still good.

You can bring Crystal Seer out with Apprentice Magician (which has other cool targets). I was thinking about a spell counter based deck with Endymion and Magical Exemplar, since the Citadel can support Arcanite, Explosive and Tempest Magician, and also if you play crusader of endymion (and tuned magician or dark valkyria) you can put gemini spark in. I don't know, it looks a little inconsistent to me, but you can play 3x Magical Power grasp which tutors itself, and also 3x upstart goblin.

@@sejuwuani5122 i was also thinking about Magician circle, since very few top tier decks play spellcasters (besides chaos sorcerer which can't be tutored by Magician circle). Maybe it's too slow (?) but it definitely helps with consistency.

Spiritual Water Art Aoi is severely underplayed. Hand knowledge is so good in the hands of a good player, and it can hit spell/traps unlike dustshoot, and it's never a dead card in the right decks.

Bc you want to tribute Treeborn for it but you can't bring out Treeborn while it's set. Tributing your Swap or Dupe for it in a monarch list is pretty bad. Nonetheless not a bad card but it's not good in Frog Monarchs.

Vortex Trooper > Crystal Seer. Seer is slower and Trooper fixes hands on Summon then +1s when leaving field. Just infinitely better option.
