Yeah, they disappeared (presumed dead, of course, due to either dehydration, drowning, or death by shark attack) after having been abandoned by their dive tour boat that had taken them scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. I remember that news story and 'Open Water' was an excellent movie.

I've never heard another person mention "Anatomy" before! I rented that movie back in '01 or so, and then bought a copy on VHS. Franka Potente starred in the German films, international hit action/romance movie "Run Lola Run" in 1999 and psychological thriller "The Princess and the Warrior", before crossing over into American films, like "Blow" with Johnny Depp in 2000 and "The Bourne Identity" in 2002. I clicked on this video because I saw Baghead in the thumbnail. I've always been fascinated with the Mumblecore movement of the early 2000's, which seems to be the last major indie film movement in America, at this point. Baghead is an offshoot of the Mumblecore movement, falling into the subgenre of Mumblegore. The biggest filmmaker of that movement is probably Ti West, with his movies like House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. A big part of both of these movements is the cross over of actors and directors, with directors sometimes appearing as actors in other filmmakers movies, like Gerwig in Baghead. I associate You're Next with Mumblegore as well, as it features Joe Swanberg and Ti West in minor rolls, and was written by Simon Barrett who is also associated with Mumblecore. I also wanted to mention my favorite aspect of Cry_Wolf is the whole movie feels like a fan fiction written by a teenager, with the main character Dodger being an impossibly cool Mary Sue. It's funny to me in a way, but it doesn't take away from the film over all.

I saw it on Syfy as a kid and loved it despite how bad it is. It’s low budget, horrific cgi, terrible accents and goofy Nazi villains. It’s like Dirty Dozen mixed with Wolfenstein. The movies okay but he’s the reason to watch! Shadow of the vampire is all about the filming of Nosferatu and stars willem dafoe as Max Schreck, the actor who played count orlock in the og classic! It kinda messes with reality and plays up the whole story of schreck actually being a vampire! Queen of the damned is a fun rock musical vampire movie! It’s also got a soundtrack that’s basically all 2000s nu-metal! It’s so awesome if you’re into that stuff like I am lol and it’s so cool to see Aaliyah being the queen herself! I've seen a lot of the movie you mentioned. Cry Wolf, Cherry Falls, Cursed, and Breed, definitely underrated. Cry Wolf is cool. Cherry Falls could have been so much better if it was left alone and released as the R-rated movie it was supposed to be. Sadly, the studio pushed and pushed for a PG-13 rating, so it got hacked up. Cursed, as I remember the story, fell victim to so much studio interference as well. It was originally supposed to be R- Rated, and I think the storyline was a bit different originally. The studio pushed for rewrites because they didn't think the original version would do well. Then, more rewrites and cuts to make it PG-13 and give more attention to certain story beats and pull away from others. Then they didn't like this, didn't like that, rewrites, rewrites. What a fucking shit show Wes had to deal with. The studios are still pushing the whole PG-13 horror bullshit. Get then teens in the theaters. And studios complain that their adult audiences aren't showing up. Well, give us a true adult horror movie, and we will. Adults want the intense plot, the gore, the smart, well written characters. A real gross out scary AF good time. Oh Dark One, I don't know if you realized this. There is a sequel to Anatomy. Yep, Anatomy 2. It's also on Tubi. Thank you for this stroll down memory lane of early 2000's horror. Much love from Pennsylvania.❤🦇❤️🦇❤️🦇❤️🦇❤️🦇

The only genuinely great one that I can think of that actually has them as its main theme is Altered States from 1980.
