I was a penguin volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium when they had the great white . The deep ocean tank at that aquarium is unreal and was probably part of the reason why they were partially successful. The story we were always told was that they had to release it because it started taking bites out of its tank mates, but it was a little bit rumor mill so I'm not surprised that wasn't the reason. (Edited for typos)

You measured a hummingbird as a tiny bit between your fingers. While the male bumblebee hummingbird might be that small, most hummingbirds are larger than that. They average 7.5-13 cm (3-5 in) in length, so, not quite so tiny.

At 10:09 Karl says "hoovering" about the Chiton. Did he mean hovering or vacuuming?
@goosenotmaverick11563 ай бұрын
He meant like vacuuming or sucking up. It's a British thing, I guess that's what they call their vacuums because a particular model "Henry Hoover" was very popular. Give it a Google, they're quite adorable.

Sickly? I heard that great white in Monterey actually put on like a foot and a half in 200 lb it did so well. The problem was is it was so aggressive it still kept attacking the other sharks in the tank Also 383 body length per second it's only about 1500 mi an hour for a 6 ft person LOL
@Marvin_R4 ай бұрын
editor goof? that last hummingbird clip was not a hummingbird, but a moth named after the hummingbird for being so similar.
@goosenotmaverick11563 ай бұрын
Amusing mistake. I could see how someone would make the mistake. I honestly may have not noticed, had I not read your comment about 15 seconds prior to that clip being shown

For some reason the video displays a hummingbird hawk moth at 11:45 during the discussion of hummingbirds. Really? I was going to chime in that the mantis shrimp, besides having the fastest muscular movement of any animal other than the pistol shrimp, can also see more colors than any other animal. This is due to the wide variety of cone cells in its eyes. But really. A moth???

I will die on the hill that Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt is not better than the original. People who think so just don't like industrial metal. That's fine, few people do, just be honest with yourselves about it. I like Johnny Cash's cover, but it pales in comparison to Reznor's. Johnny Cash gave it a much bigger audience, and let's be real, country music fans typically (though not always) hate metal music (the feeling is typically, though also not always, mutual) And because i am overly familiar with the reaction such a statement elicits, no, Trent Reznor never said Johnny Cash's cover was "better". He never said anything nice about the song, just the man.
