I don't see how the Potty Patch has a place on this list, Used as a training aid for puppies it's ideal. Also as far as dogs being destructive.... well that's just a reflection on the owner's training ability not the dog. Clearly the people doing this video have no dogs or any understanding of them.
@lorenzaviruet11255 жыл бұрын
I had the potty patch and after the dog uses it five times it starts to smell so bad. And the fake grass falls apart if you try to wash it. And when your dog digs in to the grass it gets everywhere. It was a great concept but poorly executed.
@daniviolentdeath5 жыл бұрын
Ive seen two items on this list that have greatly helped the disabled wheelchair bound patients I’ve had. It’s pretty sad watchmojo thinks only lazy people exist and completely bypass reality of some people being unable to walk or hold their tablet.
@billkelly98965 жыл бұрын
Well, unless it can be cleaned or something, you're really better off just getting puppy pads. Dogs can be trained to use them and they absorb urine just as well as that thing does. And contrary to what the people who made this video think, stuff like that is mainly used for times when the dog owner has to be away and for one reason or another (cold weather being one example, living in an apartment being another) the dog can't be left outside. You can't really expect them to hold it for hours, so they need another alternative.
@ainsleysnyder52415 жыл бұрын
There are training pads for puppies that don't have turf and they work SO MUCH BETTER. You can get like 60 of them 10 dollars along with a tray to put it on. Change them every time your dog uses them. Clean the tray every now and again. THAT is how you execute the concept. The potty patches are just....mmm-mmm

okay some of these products are dumb, im not gonna lie, but some of these (the tablet cushion, the potty pad, maybe even the comfort wand or w/e its called) are actually very useful for those who CANT hold their arms up for extended periods of time, or easily take their pets outside. not all tv products are meant for able-bodied people. its rude to assume that theyre just meant for "the average individual". try telling someone in a wheelchair that theyre being lazy for using the potty pad for their dog, see how that works out for you.
@behemoth68857 жыл бұрын
Came on here to say this -- many people don't realize these "ridiculous" infomercial products are actually designed for people with disabilities. People should really think maybe 10x before they brand people as "lazy" for not doing some action eg walking -- not everybody can!
@denisesurber81767 жыл бұрын
Seto Kaiba Good points. I guess viewers get the wrong ideas because these always portray the able bodied as the users of these products.
@behemoth68857 жыл бұрын
From what I understand, since these products only appeal to a very small market of people (disabled people being the intended users), as a way to increase profits, companies also try selling these products to able-bodied people (which is whom they're targeting when it hits commercials/ infomercials). But for able-bodied people, often times these products are actually unnecessary, which is conveyed pretty easily in the commercial.
@Moocow20037 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I can 100% see the bathtub grip actually being for a disabled person. We have to have handles like that all over the house- front and back doors, downstairs bathroom etc)- because my elderly grandfather genuinely can't get around otherwise. He would have no chance of being able to sit in a bath though, so although that product would be useless for us I can still see it having some sort of purpose.

A relative of mine had colon reattachment surgery recently (after having a chunk of cancerous colon removed), and it takes a loooong time for colons to remember how to work properly. So going to the bathroom a few dozen times a day is hard enough, but then he fractured both his elbows in a fall off his motorbike, so the Comfort Wipe was actually a lifesaver for him. Easy for healthy people to laugh at these things, but sometimes they help people. MUCH better than having to ask for help every time you have to wipe.

I bought a potty patch for out on my balcony. My BF decided to move back in with his mom so I got my own place. My dogs were used to having a yard but now I'm on the third floor. My one dog started peeing all over the house no matter how many times I brought him outside so that potty patch has been a blessing! My other dog is a senior so doing stairs so many times a day is pretty rough on him so he's it helps too. I suffer with chronic pain so doing the stairs so many times a day is pretty rough on me too. They still go for walks just I don't bring them up and down the stairs 8 times a day anymore! There's no elevator either!

@ShyLuna446 жыл бұрын
Painkiller Jones I hope you're not calling me a lazyass? My one dog is 15 and can barely walk, let alone 3 flights of stairs close to 10 times a day cause he has stones in his bladder. My other is a rescue and if I don't put him outside immediately he pee's in my house. This has been a lifesaver cause the first year here was a nightmare! I suffer with chronic pain on top of everything and when I got my dogs I didn't expect one day my boyfriend of 13 years would decide he wanted to move back to his moms after we had been living together for 10 years! He was 42 at the time and couldn't hack it in the real world so I got screwed and had to find a place quick. He helps me now financially with the pets but he's not much of a BF, he never was really.... He thinks money makes the world go round and as long as he's throwing money at me, I should be happy. I'm not that kind of person and never have been.... But being on disability my rent and bills now take majority of my income. I never ask or asked him for money, he said he'd take care of the pets things so I'd have money for food. If I had known I'd be in this situation I never would have gotten my dogs. You have to adjust with what you're thrown into.... It has nothing to do with being lazy. It has everything to do with not causing damage to this apartment! If I got you wrong I'm sorry, but I don't want people thinking I'm a lazy ass that just won't take the time to take her dogs out. My oldest doesn't go out much anymore cause he can barely walk....but my other one goes out daily. This set up on my balcony has been for mornings and great for our damn cold winter in Canada this year where I can't take him for walks cause it's too cold. He has winter gear but his feet freeze within seconds. People shouldn't be judgemental unless they're living in a situation they have no control of, and that's what I was faced with. There are people in my complex that own several dogs and those dogs never go out, they are trained to pee on pee pads and never get walked! Those are horrible people. My dogs are well cared for and loved and that's what matters.

The Potty Patch absolutely works for potty training g your pup-especially if you live on the 33rd floor in a NYC apartment building. I used it to train my puppy and he has NEVER had an accident in the house. It was not a substitute for going outside but associating the grass w/the "grass" was what sealed the deal I think. He learned super quick as well. No smell. I'd just hose it off. Oh+that blanket is an abomination.

Comfort wipe was designed for the disabled, then got marketed to the general public.

Yeah, judging by the voiceover the tablet cushion seems like it's actually meant for people with limited use of their hands...

Most as-seen-on-tv items are originally for people with various disabilities - snuggies, for example, are a little silly for able-bodied folks, but perfect for wheelchair users. They just get marketed to the general public to make them more affordable to those who actually need them, more purchasers means they can sell them for less.
I can see a point there. But I think the target audience of this product on TV is the morbidly obese.

+Nepeta Leijon I saw a TV ad for charcoal underwear that was suppose to trap the odor. I think they should be sold with the better marriage blanket as a duel set for the extra smelly ones.

Kyllandra I have no idea >XD I'm assuming because people think Germany stinks or something...either way its funny to blast one and hold ur significant others head under the blanket while chanting "Take it! Take it! Stop struggling and take it!"

+Greg Bashaw I seriously have a recording of that commercial saved on my phone to show people. It has to be the most sad pathetic product I've ever seen. Tag line should be "If you need a perfect Polly, then you also need the included shotgun to blow your own head off!" "My grandchildren never come to see me, and I barely even know if its night or day because I spend all day inside a small apartment with the shades drawn; until I got Perfect Polly! Now I have an electronic bird to talk to me all day long! Thank you China! and unlike me, it can't die at any second! No more sudden losses, like my neighbor Susan who use to check up on me!" lol, then the batteries die.... so sad...
