DC Nation was cancelled both because of things like unannounced hiatuses in Young Justice where fans were left wondering why there wasn't any new episodes, and then suddenly finding the airing starting up again, and because toys weren't selling well enough. Another issue was that too many girls were liking the comic book hero shows, and not enough boys. Yeah. Seriously. There's this weird thing in entertainment where stuff is supposed to be 'For Girls' or 'For Boys' and they don't want much crossover.

One of the worst moments in my opinion is when they cancelled Toonami. I'm pretty sure somebody may have mentioned this already, but it is still worth mentioning again. Although it is back on Adult Swim, it still deserves it's original block at weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. Barely anybody is awake at midnight to 3 a.m. Plus if they put it back on it's original block, I feel that it would help Cartoon Network's ratings astronomically. I know people will argue that you can just stream anime now, but can't you do that with normal cable as well? Bottom line, Cartoon Network should try to put Toonami back on it's original block, just to see what happens. Just a test week perhaps?

Nah, tonami prior to its cancelation was a shadow of its former self. Shitty shows that appealed to a younger audience, jacked up time slots, and the art changes to its design were cringe worthy to the point that the show wasn't even reconizable anymore. It had to die then.

The biggest point in that moment was that the reason that Chowder was canceled was because Greenblatt & Nickelodeon's relationship together was SO Toxic, Nickelodeon basically said "Fine, YOUR SHOW IS CANCELED, GET OUUT!"

Codename: KND ended on a high note, that never got cancelled, dude get your facts straight next time, I'm pretty sure you watched the series finale right? Problem Solverz got cancelled after a short period of time, you don't have to worry about that one. What you should have said is that the original Teen Titans got cancelled because that one left a cliffhanger, while they should have continued the original series rather than using the same voice actors for the new TTGO crap.

samuel hadjaiassa TTGO was not supposed to be a continuation of the original one, it's a separate entity of its own. It's just a comedy show of the TT characters turned into chubbies. However, even watching the show myself, the humor is extremely annoying and unlikeable. What I hate the most about it is that they used the same voice actors from the original one again, so that talent just got wasted. It still pains me to this day that the original series left a cliffhanger. It should have never ended with Trouble in Tokyo. Of course, we all know that 2007 was the collapse year for CN anyway.

1991-1996: Cartoon Network was born, with great Hanna Barbera shows 1997-2003: The Golden Years of Cartoon Network, with great shows like Dexter Laboratory or Courage 2004-2006: A good age of CN, but it wasn't as good as the previous age 2007: CN starts to fall... 2008: 2nd Worst year of CN, with many cancelation of many good shows such as Camp Lazlo, Ed ,edd n eddy, billy and mandy and Codename: KND 2009: THE WORST YEAR OF CN!!! TRUE TRUE 2010-2012: Just a mediocre age, but it wasn't so bad since Adventure Time and Regular Show was great 2013 - Present: It starts to get better with Steven Universe and Clarence and hey Toonami is back!

SBells27 I agree with most of your points, but I think that 2010-2012 was when things got better, because there wasn't just Adventure Time & Regular Show, but also DC Nation shows like Young Justice and Green Latern, you had the comedy show MAD, and you had reruns of classic CN shows on Cartoon Planet. Toonami had returned on [adult swim] better than ever. 2013-present is when more original shows started getting added but it was also the time DC Nation and Cartoon Planet got cancelled too, so really from 2010-now there's been up and downs, but it's definitely better than the late 2000's though. However, I agree, the 1997-2004 period was the best, or the 2000/2001-early 2004 period for me.

SBells27 Yeah I agree, Clarence isn't that bad at all, and even Uncle Grandpa as much as people hate it, it's really the "Cow & Chicken" of this day and age of Cartoon Network. You have your cartoons with gross-humor once in a while that tend to be really great and awesome for kids, but unappealing to adults, and TBH, Cow & Chicken wasn't one of my favorite Cartoon Cartoons anyway, and that's why Uncle Grandpa doesn't appeal to me that much either. I've seen WORSE Cartoon Network shows trust me.

Teen Titans Go is worse than you think. It gets as overexposed as SpongeBob, if not worse. At least SpongeBob has some really good episodes like "Pizza Delivery", "Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy V", and my all time favorite, "Band Geeks". TTG is a never ending stream of shit that gets worse, to the point CN once insisted it was your favorite, and the writers have even taken to writing episodes that are basically personal attacks against critics.

Plus the series creators had creative differences in what they wanted to do with the shows story (iirc), and each creator has gone their own ways. When this video was made, the Toonami crew stated it could not be brought back for "Tax Reasons" Much later they announced it took 6 months to file all the paper work for IGPX to return. Megas XLR is still lost Also if anyone wonder why the part 2 video is set to Private: It's a video about Boston being put on lock down for a bomb threat a few years back. After an actual bombing days ago, it's in poor taste to keep that video up. I'll bring it back once it blows over.

Ziltoid the Omniscient Well as far as I know, each one isn't considered a "sequel". It's more like each one is it's own separate universe that could have happened in the Scooby Doo Universe. Some of the stuff in these movies is pretty earth-shattering, like Shaggy and Scooby falling in love with two aliens, and zombies, and witches ALL CONFIRMED TO BE REAL IN EVERY MOVIE. And in the next movie it's like the previous one never happened.

No. it actually won't. For 3 reasons. 1. Unlike Powerpuff Girls the original creators and voice actors (with the exception of Mako. R.I.P) are back! 2. It's on adult swim Toonami now, not Cartoon Network so all the violence will still be there and the PC jerks can't complain about it. 3. It's darker and edgier now and it's a continuation, not a reboot. I think none of us Jack lovers have to worry.

I'm with you on the Adventure Time thing. You get a pretty awesome set-up for a possible season length arc where Finn and Jake would be chasing down the Lich through different alternate universes....you can have the Lich gather an army of AU Liches and go wipe out the every life in every reality...or have the Lich be gunning for our reality to really wipe out all life. The potential is there...it's a darn shame they never do it.

Cartoon Network is seriously a mess now. Good shows get cancelled for horrible one's, the scheduling is disastrous, and it only is gonna get worse. CN is like the Nintendo of TV, once on top of its game now in serious need of reform, capable of retaining its spot on top but not without the right guidance.

Madi Coyle You named three shows... They still cancelled really good ones for no reason. Cancelled more good than bad. Also you didn't even address my other reasons. The scheduling is still bad, Adult Swim comes on too early. There are no blocks so nothing feels special anymore. How about these? Answer some of these. My offer still stands about bad shows, Clarence and Uncle Grandpa are just insulting. Adventure time has gone down in quality and there's only like 5 or 6 shows.

princephillay Cartoon Network is in a much better state than it was 8 years ago. There was a time where literally the only cartoon on tv that was even remotely watchable was Phineas and Ferb, and that was on Disney Channel. CN had jack shit. I think right now with great shows like Steven Universe and the spectacular Over the Garden Wall mini-series, the channel is slowly starting to gain back its momentum.

Top 2 for me: Getting rid of Toonami and deciding to add CN Real. CN Real deserves the absolute top spot, though. I was FURIOUS they decided that what their network stood for was not as "good" as live action shows. I made it a point to change the channel any time the live action stuff came on. TBH, Cartoon Network is only thriving on Adventure Time, Regular Show, and quite possibly the new series Steven Universe. All three are good shows. Heck, we could even throw in The Amazing World of Gumball. But with dumb series like Uncle Grandpa and Teen Titans GO!, quality has really gone down. They've tampered with the awesome cartoons, like Looney Tunes and Teen Titans. The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed was better than I expected it to be, despite the fact it looked like a fucked up attempt at CGI. Nickelodeon is right behind. Now that iCarly and Victorious is over, what's the point? Sure, we have Sam & Cat (which is a great show), TMNT, The Legend of Korra, and Spongebob is still somewhat on top (even with the rumored cancelation, though I believe it's true), we still have ridiculous shows like The Haunted Hathaways and Sanjay & Craig. I saw a preview for a new series about two frogs that deliver bread. I stared at my TV like what the hell? Disney is a totally different story. Kim Possible, That's So Raven, Even Stevens, etc. Those shows are over. The WoWP special Alex vs. Alex was amazing. Gravity Falls is the best cartoon on there and GLC is almost over. Austin & Ally is pretty good. Shake It Up is over. Then they changed their website. I miss the old Disney Channel website. Face it, people. We're living in the age where TV is starting to suck and anyone can get a show broadcasted. I am simply just stating my opinion.

Mr Madness You are starting to get shows based on games (Rabbids, Pac-man and the ghostly adventures, etc.) and this is when I know that the companies that are responsible for those games are financially in trouble. Regular Show sucks, it's just a bunch of obnoxious shit, Steven Universe is not nearly as bad, TTG looks like it's mediocre fan-art, with a completely different focus. There are so many bastardized shows these days, it really does show that the industry is suffering, because of lower than shit stuff like Jersey Shore and "reality" (AKA exploitative, whoring out) television. Spongebob, in it's current state sucks worse than. Every television program and network will have their bad moments, and when these fuck ups happen continuously, it's time for some serious reform.

I think CN and Nickelodeon intentionally set up more grown up shows to fail. I think this because it is often believed that children will be the ones to watch shows more often and therefore, more merchandise. Think about it, if you made a comedic show for children with flashy lights and bright colours on an afternoon, children are guaranteed to watch it. From a business standpoint, this maybe means more money. Thats why they pick up shows like Star vs TFOE, Steven Universe, Gumball, and Gravity Falls. The creators just have to be more... well, creative with the writing. A "hide in plain sight" Sort of deal. They keep the looks of a young kids show, minus an episode or 10, while putting there writing strengths to the test.
