Blair's white outfit in ep 1x02 was supposed to coordinate with Chuck's, and perhaps give a clue about their future together. Her red tights for ep 1.10 was probably the costumers attempt at making her outfit more TV friendly for the make out scene with Chuck later on. Also I'd guess that Jenny's outfit was heavily influenced by Taylor's style transformation into a real life rockstar at the time too. Everything else though ITA with you.

I love the first one - Blair pulls off the "prissy" white dress. Quite cottagecore. I liked the second one too - Serena is exactly the type to wear something "too casual" to brunch. Suits her carefree, often reckless personality. Third one is...you're right about that actually, that orange thing makes nobody look good. omg the red tights outfit is one of my favorites from blair! its very much girly and a standoffishly brave from other outfits of her. it shows a totally different side and vibe from her classic,preppy and safe outfits while showing off her taste with how she makes the bold colors and the patterns work, it's a total breath of fresh air!

Someone in these comments said it best. These style choices made sense at the time they were made. Part of being a style icon is pushing boundaries. That is why Blair is on the list so much. Honestly, the thing I hated most was commitment to head bands. It’s weird. I know it’s supposed to be like a crown but what fashionista is committed to one accessory like that? I was glad when she grew up and was rid of it.

What about Jenny's look at her cotillion. I thought she looked horrible. For your cotillion you're supposed to go all out but she looked pretty basic and average. She wore black which was expected. Then she had those ridiculous black gloves. It was a mess. She was the worst dressed at the cotillion in my humble opinion. What about Serena's wedding dress in the final episode of Gossip Girl. I didn't like it too much. There was more gold than white. Also please do Top 10 Times Chuck Bass Was The Best and Top 10 Times Jenny Was The Worst.

I understand that some of Jenny's outfits are questionable, but it fits her personality and that is the important thing. That makes it special. I agree with some aspects of this list though. I never realised how tragic Blair's yale university outfit was. Usually her fits were fire.
