I mean that’s what happens when you try to force a self contained movie into a franchise and keep going even when it’s clear the writers don’t know how to make sequels without retconning or reusing plot threads from the original.

Maybe if Jeepers Creepers was directed by perhaps James Wan, Guilermo Del Toro, or Wes Craven, it would have been more talked about than it really is. Wes Craven I think could have made the Creeper even more of an iconic horror monster and given fans the story of Trish and the dad teaming up together to find out about the origins of the Creeper and figuring out how to kill him once and for all. It’s unfortunate about the icky infamy that surrounds the actual director, because the Creeper had so much potential to become an icon. Justin Long, Gina Phillips, Ray Wise and Jonathan Breck are pretty much still the reasons to even watch the first three movies. Jeepers Creepers Reborn also had so much potential to be better than Jeepers Creepers 3, especially since Victor Salva wasn’t gonna be involved with the making of the movie. And yet, turned out to be worse than Jeepers Creepers 3.
@davidcurry332
@davidcurry332 7 ай бұрын
Yep I agree bro I think I think you’re more Del Toro or Wes Craven wanted an a lot better job I don’t know I think even Sean Cunningham could’ve took a swing at the creeper made it better. I’m sorry the first jeepers creepers is the only one I like Victor Salva he looks like he’s a creep anyway but I think that’s the only movie I’ve ever seen from but no I think I would’ve like to see you I think even Sam Raimi could’ve took a stab at jeepers creepers. I would’ve been good they could’ve had ash crossover with the creeper because he kind a looks like a dead out. Honestly, I think there’s so many other directors beside Wes Craven, and even I think even yeah there’s so many other directors that are around beside Wes Craven they could’ve done a good job. Even Carpenter could’ve took a good shot at the creeper other than that there’s so many other people but no Sam Raimi would be a good choice for two he’s got the eye for that kind of humor.

Expendables and Fast and Furious for sure. E3 and E4 were terrible and Fast and Furious has failed for X and 9, along with the 4th and 6th entries being forgettable as The Rock began to eclipse Diesel. Most people only saw F7 and F8 because of Walker, and F5 was lightning in a bottle because of Diesel breathing new life and adopting a Latin angle instead of African American.

I don't hate on that movie because it was quickly slapped together just to keep the rights to IP as remake was stuck in development hell for ages and last official Hellraiser movie came out in 2005. Think you must make one movie every couple of years otherwise you lose the right and you have to renew license to IP again, so it was cheaper to just slap some $2-3 millions direct-to-video sequel.

The JAWS franchise has a special place in my heart even if it doesn't compare in the slightest to the original masterpiece. It was my first horror movie franchise growing up and even if it does get worse with each film, it has a lot of merit to it. It's also a rare franchise where each installment, good or bad, keeps that nostalgic and gorgeous atmosphere feel to it from the original to the end so it is still respectable in that regard. With that being said, I will say that even though JAWS is my favorite horror movie, it's franchise is not my favorite horror movie franchise (that's going to like Final Destination I think)

@@fromtexas2734 easily the second one. It's like a combination of many great things from many of the other films and more. Clear Rivers returns? Check. Incredibly iconic opener which is now regarded as the best by most? Check. Unlikely likable characters like from the first movie? Check. FD2 has such a raw and nostalgic suburban vibe to me that makes it even more of an attractive film. I also think this movie has a great balance of realism in deaths. It is over the top but doesn't cross into being wacky which makes a perfect blend. It's also worthy to note that Final Destinations 1, 2, and 5 specifically are the movies that carry the actual story of the franchise and adds story so it isn't just gratuitous for fun unlike what so many people think (They also happen to be my top three favs but FD3 is still awesome too). FD2 is forever one of my favorite horror sequels of all time and for sure my fav of the series and Cody seemed to agree in his videos which I'm happy for

The only mistake they made with the remake is it should have never been a "Wrong Turn" film to start with...as a separate film that stands on its own it's very good. Got some food for thought for ya Cody. My least favorite horror franchise is the Ring. You're probably wondering how. To summarize: •There are actually 13 films. •The series has as many attempts to reboot as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, except the series flip-flops between timelines. So the 4th movie might be from timeline A, the 5th from timeline B, the 6th is back to timeline A, the 7th is timeline C. •Some of these movies commit absolute cardinal sins when it comes to horror movie sequels and bad decisions. •Worst case of sequelitis ever since the timelines steal ideas from each other. The Ring is a sleeping giant when it comes to bad franchises.

Horror movies seem to be notorious for having absolutely garbage franchises. Most horror movies are not built for sequels, if it works it works, but look at a lot of the shit they're doing cause they just run out of ideas. It's a horror movie, the monster will always win, the people will always die. There is just not much deviation you can do with it

Some franchises can work but you got to know how long you're going to keep at it till people get tired of the name. Horror films deserve simply a one and done deal. If it has to be a sequel make sure it is good to best you can do but dont over do the sequels. Best example of over doing sequels was friday 13th freddy and Halloween. They did great sequels but after awhile they went too overboard and it lost lot of respect and love. They are iconic but they should just been done put away far away leave them be make something new

I couldn’t agree with you more about the 1974 original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the 2003 remake Cody! They are both bone chilling, terrifying, and really worth all praise and accolades from audiences and fans of both films. Critters, Tremors, and Leprechaun definitely belong in the list among the worst horror franchises aside from The Exorcist and The Omen (I really love the original of both but I’m not a fan of the sequels to both franchises. Sleepaway Camp is a guilty pleasure of mine but the sequels are really not worth watching in my honest opinion. I’ve never seen the original all the way through the runtime but i was not expecting the worst to be the Children Of The Corn franchise.

Yep, Children of the Corn is the worst franchise. It just went no where. None of these franchises went anywhere or really added anything to the early movies. I'm grateful you didn't add the Night of the Demons franchise. The first two movies are pretty much accepted, but the third one had very little to do with the first two. It was just pointless nudity, a weak script and bad performances.

It’s honestly very hilarious that you compared the 4 Jeepers Creepers movies to the 4 Jaws movies in terms of quality because Victor Salva, aside from being a [REDACTED], was actually a HUGE fan of the first Jaws movie. Apparently, it was recorded that he saw Jaws 56 times in the theatre.

As a giant fan of the first two Jeepers Creepers, i choose to ignore 3 and 4. They need to retcon everything. Bring on a full cast that can stick around 3-4 movies and create a coherent and contiuous story. And finally not wait X amount of years between each iteration. Those are just some basic suggestions. I know Hollyweird ignores conistent storytelling and actual art for more reboots and prequels etc.

I really hope they DON'T continue with The Exorcist trilogy. Believer was offensively bad. Me and my boyfriend were laughing so hard during the exorcism scene. They managed to get ELLEN BURSTYN - one of the most talented actresses of all time* - back and totally wasted the opportunity.
