@@prometheus5405 Its still a comic book movie! The Jokers idea is that everybody has the little bit of craziness and anarchy inside. It is what drives The Punisher as well as he said "youre one bad day away from being me". The concept is known to us. There is this movie called "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas which essentially has the same theme. At some point, everybody snaps. There is only so much a person can endure, and god knows all they want is an idol or somebody to look up to in their worst time. Thats how Hitler got his power. Parasite has a very similar theme, because it is also about the relationship between classes. And i have to agree that it handled the topic much better and is definitely the better movie. Sadly many people wont watch it because it has subtitles...

Critics and koreaboos giving this movie too much credit. Every year there is an asian foreign movie who gets a lot of acclaim whether it's deserved or not. This movie was the one which they chose for 2019. It doesn't help that in 2019 we had very few good memorable movies. It's a decent overrated movie. Oldboy is a much better and original movie, with much better acting.

Your top 2 is close to mine. I saw 1917 yesterday in xmas and what a ride that was. I have Joker number 3 1917 number 2 and Parasite number 1. Parasite is just a movie I cant stop thinking about. Some would say there is a parasite in me right now thinking about the movie. Not sure if you saw that film or not but I do recommend it highly.

Great list! But I personally would have added Spider-Man: Far From Home. It was a brilliant, personal story for Peter and you get to really see him come to grips with the loss of another father figure in Tony Stark. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal absolutely crushed it as Mysterio. Being a comic book fan, I already knew of his facade but it still worked brilliantly in the context of the movie. His illusion sequences are some of the best comic book moments I've seen in a comic book movie in years.

Joker has some bad writing how Arthur hid his gun on a national popular talkshow in a Second-Amendmented AMERICA? How come random mindless protesters hailing & circling around him for being a killer? How come a random fucking thug shooting the fucking rich & powerful politician without any bodyguard and said "that's what you deserve" .. Joaquin Phoenix is great The scores and directing is good But the writing is FUCKING GENERIC. that's why JOKER only has half of the critics really like it.. Well, Parasite won Palme D'or in Cannes..
