Wild Waves near Seattle has one of the same model (they call theirs the Wild Thing) and it feels like they designed it to meet some federally mandated minimum standard for a "thrill" ride. Most days when the park isn't overly crowded they send riders through twice just so it feels vaguely thrilling.

@ThemeParkCrazy, You can breathe a partial sigh of relief as three coasters from this list are now defunct. Canobie Corkscrew at Canobie Lake Park was removed from the park after the 2021 season. Also during that year, Six Flags New England removed Goliath from the park map, and a park representative confirmed it would not operate for the remainder of the season. The coaster began demolition in late 2021 confirming its permanent closure. Hershey Park also announced on June 8, 2022 that Wildcat will be closed for good at the end of July, and that's exactly what happened. It will be converted by RMC into Wildcat's Revenge and will open in 2023.

Crazy Scrapping Kid it depends on height. I am 5'10, suppose to be 6'3 at full height. I did not ride a arrow looper after my rapid growth since my head banged like a bubble head. Then road Carolina Cyclone with no headbanging, thinking it was just a good ride. But then I rode Dragon Fire and did not bang either. So I just get shackiness. I am pretty sure I might have got a good one on GASM if I was tall enough when it was open.

I have ridden Goliath at SFNE, but when it was known as Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain and was removed and relocated to SFNE in 2001. I had no problem with it, loved it, and the front seat was my favorite. As far as the Great American Scream Machine goes, I never had a chance to ride it. It is a carbon copy of VIPER at SFMM. Viper is the last of the Arrow mega-loopers in existence. The Vortex is similar but has 6 loops, where Vioer and The Scream Machine have 7 loops. Viper is my favorite roller coaster of all time. These rides comfort come down to your knowledge on how to ride these rides properly, and how the parks maintain these rides as they age. The old saying goes “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone”, reminds me of the Great American Scream Machine, and the Peoplemover at Disneyland. If you take out a classic you will NEVER hear the end of it from the park visitors. Hello from Phoenix Arizona.

Meet up with other nordic explorers aboard the Toboggan Nordique. You will get your fix for thrill in this classic steel ride that will lead you through a large flat section of upper track consisting of multiple 180° switchbacks with a few drops. Each small car can carry up to 4 people and will make you feel safe while you hit the slopes! This ride is a great start for those young thrill seekers that might not be ready for Goliath yet. Choose the country you will cheer for between our colorful cars from Jamaica, Canada, Italy and the United States of America! The architecture oh this Wild Mouse type of ride is well known for its many slopes that will remind you of your favorite ski-resort.Hold on tight because you might feel a little scared! Laughs and fun guaranteed!" you wanna know what this ride actually is? Painful. Nothing but painful. Those 180° switchbacks are torture for your lower body. if you wanna know what it looks like, this is the first video I found of it via Google search: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZmZp6Wheqh1eLM

To be fair, until a few years ago, my parents claimed that the Steel Phantom (the original) was probably the worst coaster they've ridden. Not because it was a bad coaster, but because they always left with a terrible headache. It was also an Arrow and had the same type of trains.
@rickleo98166 жыл бұрын
@@user-K8T yes. The steel phantom before the track switch was horrible on your neck and head. The bank turn after the long drop with an inversion right after was too much. I do wish that they would build at least one inversion back into it tho.
@user-K8T6 жыл бұрын
How do you feel about the Steel Curtain? If done right this could be great for the park. And I'm hyped to have another coaster at Kennywood. And also to (hopefully) have shorter Phantom lines.

The "Wildcat" at Lake Compounce was the first coaster I ever rode back in the early 70's. Back then, there were no seat belts, restraints. or lap bars. There was just a bar in front that you hung onto. I rode it about 8 years ago and found that the cars were small and that I could barely fit my legs into them. After the ride, my knees were covered in bruises from being banged on the front of the car. I've lived about 15-20 minutes away from that park all my life. I will 100% agree about "The Great American Scream Machine". When I saw the title of this video, that was the first coaster that came to my mind. It was the absolute worst coaster I've ever ridden, and I've ridden a LOT of rough, throw you around, coasters. Nothing banged me up like that one did. That thing was a torture device made specifically to injure people. I was kind of pissed because my neck was so painful after riding it that it killed my enjoyment of every other ride that day.

The front is actually the worst on those Arrow Corkscrews, the best place to sit is the last car front row then they aren't too bad (IDK why it is but my theory is that the rear wheels that trail the train help stabilize the last car)

Never rode it, but I just cant imagine wildcat at hershey being bad. The layout looks so promising.
@pacoasters36516 жыл бұрын
AnimalzyNL it really isnt as bad as most say it is. Years ago I wouldve agreed with everyone but now its running much better. Yes there are still a few rough spots but its now at least 7-5th best in the park depending on some other factors
@wchristman76346 жыл бұрын
While it is certainly rough, I think it's still pretty good. Though, I would rather see it as an RMC.
@katiewerner99996 жыл бұрын
Wildcat is getting better, but it still rough. A lot of my friend, myself, and others mainly enjoy the ride for the roughness compared to all the smooth metal coasters in the park.
@100DollarHeadache6 жыл бұрын
Hershey's Wildcat is okay, but Roar at Six Flags America has a similar layout and gives a better ride even with the PTC trains.
@AdamSmith-gs2dv6 жыл бұрын
It's bad, the PTC trains it used to run with absolutely destroyed the track and Hershey hasn't put the money into retracking it.

I paused at The Wild Cat, I saw your apology vid and I'm glad you gave it another chance. I am not a loop kind of person, my first was Super Duper Looper and that made me feel sick, but when I rode the floorless Great Bear 20 years ago, a year after the ride came out I was pretty fine. That being said, The Wild Cat is actually one of my fave rides now, along with the Comet, Lighting Racer, and other none inverted coasters. Thanks again for giving Hershey another try, we love our little chocolate town here in PA. ^_^

Good video. As Carowinds is my hometown park I totally agree with your inclusion of Flying Ace and Vortex. I rode the Ace opening year and after one ride it was a "log and dodge" for me. OUCH! As for Vortex-it was much better when it opened but has steadily gotten rougher over the years. I only ride it if I'm with a Carowinds virgin that wants to ride (once)!

Vortex was my number one from this list. Seriously, if you've never been on it, don't go on it. It's plenty of fun, but it bangs your head between the restraints as you ride. It is very uncomfortable. My number one worst coaster that wasn't on this list was Anaconda at Kings Dominion. Same thing on this one, it bangs your head between the restraints as you ride.

When I was watching this, I had a sneaking suspicion that what you called Goliath was once Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and indeed it was. I have horrid memories of that ride, beginning when I was maybe about 11. I hadn't been on many coasters before then, and I was terrified of it. My mother forced me to go on, and I actually enjoyed it. I visited Magic Mountain several times after that, and enjoyed going on it, until it broke down a few times while I was riding it. The last time I rode it, we were stuck on the part where you're facing the ground on one of the straight up bits for about twenty minutes. It all the weight on the harness was terrifying. I wasn't sorry when they closed it.

Great American Scream machine looks almost identical to Viper at six flags magic mountain and just as painful
@Sirynx776 жыл бұрын
Patrick Grose - Pretty much the same layout except it's a bit taller than its other two identical coasters, Great American Scream Machine and Shockwave. Being the third and final version of this type of coaster, Arrow probably had fixed the bugs that Great American Scream Machine and Shockwave had. Viper wasn't that bad when it first opened back in 1990. Then again, it's now 28 years old and I don't remember if they have ever done major refurbishing on it. I hope it doesn't get scrapped. Especially since they already fucked up by replacing the historic Colossus with that blasphemy.

SLCs have a great layout ruined by bad trains. I would recommend riding any SLC that has the new Vekoma (NOT KumbaK) trains; it is a delight. Standard Boomerangs, on the other hand, can die in a hole.
@triple7marc6 жыл бұрын
+Alex Snitzer I've ridden 2 Boomerangs (the one that was at Knott's Berry Farm and the one at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) and Kong (SLC at SFDK) is far worse than both. Boomerang at Knott's sucked but was bearable. Boomerang at SFDK was very smooth minus one jolt through the backwards loop. Kong is absolutely terrible. By far the worst roller coaster I've ridden. Probably the worst roller coaster in California (I've ridden basically every one). I'd even say the worst roller coaster on the West Coast.

Some of you are very young on here, so I'm going to include some older rides, and some newer ones too: In no particular order: 10) Hercules--Dorney Park Following a really cool drop into a banked turn, the rest of the ride meandered through a slow painful course. If only RMC had existed back then... 9) The Rattler (post modifications of the original wood course) Six Flags Fiesta Texas It started off pretty well, and then went into the 'snake' section of the ride. Up and down at slow speed through several helices, one of our group named it "The Pain Chamber." 8) The Boss--Six Flags Saint Louis--I made the bad mistake of riding it twice, this time in the back seat on an extremely hot day. Those g-trains made me think I had suffered chest damage. 7) Outer Limits Flight of Fear--Paramount's King's Dominion--This was before the lap bar conversion 6) Mind Eraser--Six Flags America. I must be a glutton for punishment, since I've ridden it many times being that it's at my home park. 5) Apocalypse the Last Stand--Six Flags America--Sorry B&M, you're first ride sucks! 4) Dahlonega Mine Train--Six Flags Over Georgia--I've ridden several older Arrow mine trains, and that one was extremely uncomfortable 3) Green Lantern--Six Flags Great Adventure--There are some horrible transitions into some of the inversions, and those aren't love taps that your head makes with the cushions. 2) Shockwave--Astroworld--Another stand up, big surprise, right? 1) Viper--Six Flags Great Adventure--Two inversions taken way too fast, and too short of a ride. And oh yeah, it was made by Togo.
