Shelter is a terrific film, underrated gem that one, ditto Gods Own Country, some people may need subtitles but its fantastic, so moving. And of course the mainstream game changers Brokeback and lately Love Simon...over all, really good list, put together with care and intelligence

Making Love was one of my favorite movies when it came out in 1982, I remember crying in the theatre when it was over. Now it is mostly unwatchable but it was quite a daring film when it came out back then.

Really a great list. A couple more movies for consideration: The Lost Language of Cranes from 1991 and Les Roseaux sauvages from 1994 which won a César for Best Picture in France.

My fave is Brokeback Mountain....what a heartbreaking film. But I doubt anyone noticed early on, "This Special Friendship..." A French movie that was very daring for when it was released, in 1964. That movie is also very powerful and equally heartbreaking. Because it came out in 1964 and being the oldest film shown here, I really believe it should be much higher on this list!!! The courage of the film maker should count for something.....

The list is OK except for one thing... Most USA movies rank higher than the non-USA movies when they are most definitely it better artistically speaking except for a few exceptions.... Coz movies like The Way He Looks, Undertow, Esteros, Weekend are way better than most of the top 10

When I first time watch the movie till ending, finally I accept the same sexuality love when I wanted Maurice and Clive together since their are first love instead of alec coming into Maurice life, but Clive married a woman and Maurice and Alec are together in the end...

Maybe you should have compiled this list, chances are you could make a better one, not so US centric.
