Fun Fact: almost all high speed trains are derivates of either different German ICE, French TGV or Japanese Shinkansen classes.
@thekevinager5294
@thekevinager5294 2 жыл бұрын
I personally find this so funny because German Train are pretty crap for today's modern standards - but the technology is often still leading This obviously is because of the rail network mostly aswell as the fact that the train that does honestly suck is the regiobahn so the regional train and the ICE (as far as I know) is quite good

@@Desi365 Well... kinda. Those trains are built by a consortium of Bombardier Transportation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Alstom and Siemens. Alstom also builds most TGV Models, Siemens most ICE sets, Kawasaki many Shinkansen Parts. Bombardier Transportation is owned by Alstom. Also the Chinese patents regarding these trains are only valid in China, as they conflict with older worldwide patents of the afore mentioned high speed trains; one reason why China can not sell the Fuxing Hao Trains internationally. It is amazing that so many nations have surpassed the UK, when it comes to speed. As you all know it was the UK that invented the Steam Locomotive, and it was the UK that invented railways. For many years the UK rail network has been using older trains, even though the UK did have the Inter City 125 (Class 43) which was the fastest Diesel train at 125 MPH. That was in the late 1970's. However the UK is building the HS2 which will see trains travelling at 400 kmh in 2026.

While this train has yet to start operating commercially, the current world record for how fast a train has gone is held by a Japanese maglev that's to start commercially operating in 2027. It exceeded speeds of 600km/h during a test run. What's interesting about this maglev is that unlike other maglevs that float about 1cm off the ground, this maglev floats 10cm off the ground to guarantee its safety in the event of an earthquake.

The world's fastest regular track train record is France with speed over 574km/h, while on second is China with speed over 493km/h. And that is for record breaking purpose, not operational speed. Mostly operational bullet train speed operated arround the world have speed over 300km/h, 305km/h, and 320km/h. While in China late last year just launched the new Fuxing train that run at 350km/h service between Beijing and Shanghai over 1300+km distance, it's the fastest in the world in operational outside Maglev. Then you go Maglev. Currently there is only one country on earth with Maglev in operation and that is China run in Shanghai Pudong airport to Shanghai city with speed over 431km/h. Some of you probably mistaken for Japan Maglev that run at the speed of 603km/h which is not operational, only prototype.

What amazes me is the bullet trains in Europe are all running on those "historic" gravel tracks. High-speed tracks in China (where I'm from) are all laid on concretes, which are more stable and less impacted by environment. That's why it's able to operate at 350kph. But HSR in Europe is still able to operate at 300 to 320 kph safely on gravel tracks. It's impressive

When Chinese tourists come to U.S., these are the impressions they get: Dangerous streets in many urban areas, especially at night. Old and outdated infrastructures, mainly the bridges, roads and highways ,subway and buses, trains ,airports, libraries and government buildings. Dangerous people wander the streets at night time. Lots of drugs going around. Unfriendly officials, including the police, airport workers, and subway workers. Push carts at the airports used at a price, where many other airports in many countries the carts are free to use.

You might be right on that but, why are so many of your women coming to our country to have their babies here? Why are our Universities crowded with Chinese students? Remember, China does not create anything by its own merit. It copies and steals ideas from many countries, especially the USA, but the one thing the Chinese desperately wants, but will never be able to copy or steal, its called: FREEDOM. What's the sense of having so many good things available if you don't have freedom to enjoy them as you please? We might have dangerous streets but no one is watching you 24/7. Anything you say against your corrupt government, might land you in a hard labor camp thanks to the complicity of your neighbors or your own family members that will betray you in return for favors. Just think about that before you open your big stinking mouth.

The other problem is, our Amtrak trains are exorbitantly expensive. To take an Acela "bullet train" from NYC to Washington you are looking at $200. You may as well take a flight for that price.

@@GerhardReinig You r right. Because the Transrapid (meglev) was planed, created and built the first time in Germany. It was test for multiple years. But there was a fatal accident so Germany scraped the whole idea. (and money was also a reason, those tracks and everything is expensive). But China planed to build a track from the Shanghai Airport to the city. They bought the technology and that's why the first commercial meglev is in China.

Japan build 400km/h trains, germany has the longest track with over 300km/h In 'merica we still travel with diesel trains. Thats why you think the usa is that big. If you travel at 100km/h.

Well china has faster trains than Japan and also the longest track over 300kph. But in europe alone, both spain and france have larger tracks over 300kph than germany. There aren't great trains in usa cuz it's costly and planes already do this job

@@mr.boomguy that's awesome. it's a little different here in the USA. in america Amtrak wants to do high speed routes, but there are tons of barriers. for one thing on the east coast, the tracks are too old. usually for HSR, you need concrete ties. most ties on Amtrak's routes are still wooden. its super expensive to replace everything. it's also super expensive to get all the latest equipment and train sets like the shinkansen in japan and the CRH in china. if Amtrak did all that they wouldn't have anything left to run the company. it'd be a great investment, but first we gotta get the federal government to invest in it. joe biden's a huge supporter of HSR in america. yet another reason to vote him in.
