My favorite application of Siri “stunts” is to combine with Geo Fences. “Hey Siri, when I go to the Hardware store remind me to buy a hammer.” You can keep adding to the list and when you approach the hardware store (you will have to give her the address 1st time) she will remind you of all the items you have on the list. OR - If you get home and realize you are low on gas and don’t want to forget to fill up; “Hey Siri, when I leave here, remind me to get gas.” She will remind you as you pull out of the driveway. Just two examples, there are a million more. BTW, you can expand or contract your geo fences to remind you of things as you approach them. And I suspect that if you combined WORK FLOW you could trigger all kinds of actions just by moving from one place to another. Cheers and thanks for another terrific vid!

Warning; She will forever remind you until you clear it from your reminders list! LOL (you don’t want her to turn into a nag, trust me)

Awesome!! I use Siri all the time and for all the examples you said. (Though I need to start buying more home automation devices, but I love using it for my Nest!) Another use for Siri, if you don't want to have to go into the phone app to make a call that's not in your contacts you can say, "Siri, call (say phone number)" Its particularly good for longer 1-800 numbers!!

Great video!!! for number two, when at the grocery store.... I just ask Siri to show me my grocery list. It's a little wonky because she will read it to you and if the list is large, she will ask you to continue. So if you have embarrassing things on your list... beware. Lol

If interested let me know and I will give you more details. Anyways, awesome channel, keep up the great work.

@Jan Čejka ... if Siri is enabled in the phone's settings, even if it's locked, all you have to do is push and hold the home button until Siri is activated, and then say "Who does this phone belong to?", and it will respond with the person's name, and it may also show any info that is associated with it (if that info was also saved to the owner's number/contact info section). The only way to stop that from happening, is to turn off Siri for when the phone is locked (it's one of the options under the Siri menu section), but Siri will still continue to work normally when unlocked. That way the person/finder/thief can still try the home button technique, but the phone will ask for the password before proceeding further.

Wow, I really am going to use Siri more often - I already ask about the weather a lot, calling too. Launching apps not so much as I have to unlock first (I have a 7 plus so can use Hey Siri not plugged in). The emergency thing is excellent - though it can be potentially abused.

Loved your top 11. I use many of those items listed too. Although, I'm often frustrated with Siri's limitations...or inconsistencies. Like, last week I was driving and I asked for driving directions to home. Siri replied, "I can't do that while you are in the car". What?! When else would I need it? I run into a lot of those scenarios
@abusadoraxbaby7 жыл бұрын
Next time try telling Siri. "Siri, take me home". Sometimes it's just the way you talk to her.

Hey man, totally offtopic, but I heard you said you have ADD, so do I, but I was wondering, are you still on any meds or did you learn to cope with it somehow? I'm asking this, because I was looking at the way you were talking to the camera and you really seemed focused and your way of speaking seems to be really structured. When I tell a story I mostly just lose my train of thought halfway through, unless I'm really consciously trying to keep my focus. I'm trying to cope with it without using meds, but it's not always easy.. Always looking for tips.

I always ask Siri to check my notifications, read back my texts, and write replies. As long as you speak slowly and use common words, Siri's pretty good at getting it right.

The tip on using Siri to call 911 in an emergency sounds great, but on my iPhone 6 Plus, in Settings - Siri - "Allow "Hey Siri", it says "You can speak to Siri without pressing the home button by saying 'Hey Siri' when connected to power." That limitation seems unfortunate, as I usually don't charge my phone during the day. If I left the phone on the kitchen counter during the day, the feature would not be available if it were not connected to power.
