I'm not an American (I'm Polish but I was born in Sweden and now live in Poland since 2019) but the weather (except for hot and dry summers), black ice and chances of wildlife encounters in the streets is true for big parts of northern, central and eastern Europe. I'm surprised that people don't expect there to be chances of black ice on roads during winter. If there's winter weather (for instance freezing rain or snow), it's expected. But then again if they live in California or Texas then I guess that they are used to milder winters.

I lived in Boise in 1975. If you think it's isolated now you should have seen it then. Boise largest city in the state had 98k people in it. However, we had the mountains and the hot springs all to ourselves when we went there. People flew to Salt Lake to go shopping for furniture. You are right, once you are out of Boise there is nothing near the city except vast open expanses of desert and mountains. Today, I live in McCall ID and it's beautiful but price-wise it's getting like Sun Valley. Like Sun Valley you need to drive distances for things like Costco or McDonalds. Our nearest McDonalds is in Boise 120 miles away.

You would survive just fine. I was in tech and spent a year working in DE and did shorter stints in Asia, now live in Boise. Boise has a semi-arid continental climate similar to EU with four seasons, but drier. Your biggest shock would likely the low population compared to the EU and Taiwan. It's difficult to comprehend the vastness of wilderness outside the Boise metro area, with a state population under 2M. This is either a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Like the video mentions, its a slower pace of life.

Idaho is full do not move here. My family has been here before its a state and ive alwaus said i was going to raise a family and die here. The massive invasion of people moving here made it nearly impossible for young native idahoans like me because we do not make very good money in idaho while the price of everything is way overinflated
@bushrauniteddutistates3295 Жыл бұрын
thats happening everywhere Zachary. You see essentially USA was made by European Immigrants as Europe got "filled" by their own people, and the new land was "found" by Columbus (read Native American's land), while he was trying to find "India". Hence came the name Red Indians. Now, fast forwarding the wars and stuff, Europeans also left a lot of colonies (Most African countries, Asian countries like Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia) in a mess after WWI and WWII, some they ruled for 200 years (India), some 400 years (Indonesia). As the new world innovation and technology geared up; the competition to become the best nation intensified between soviets and US. With global market and globalization, we are now advancing in tech and everything, as well as borders are opening up to skilled labor everywhere. Which is why people will move- locally, regionally and internationally. and the major reason is Economy (in some cases War and Climate change, but still leading reason is Economy). While we might avoid any blame games, Europeans DID open up the first "lets move to a different country" through their seafaring trades and colonization. So though I do see where you are coming from, people are still going to move as they also are struggling economically. [I exclusively left out the mention of Slavery, but bringing the black slaves from Africa also occurred by Europeans when they first came to this great land. So the way was shown by the first settlers anyway, and now if people come as free men, it cannot be taken offensively]
@bushrauniteddutistates3295 Жыл бұрын
But I also like to add one thing, people are moving to Europe as well (a lot of people from Ukraine and Syria, after war, the regional movement has been to a mind staggering amount) and people are moving to Asia as well (specially China with the Chinese Industrial Boom, more people are learning Chinese now than English), even India as the new tech hub is Hydrabad India, and much cheaper than Silicon valley, CA. As business is becoming global I have even seen lot of people moving to Nigeria and other Asian and African hubs where business is flowing. But I have not seen in other countries the price hike that I have witnessed in USA. this calls for a good economic analysis of the economic system of USA. USA's economy is established on credit debt, and consumerism. Which is why inflation is rampant. Even Russian war and stopped gas intake from Russia caused an energy crisis to Germany, yet energy price is still quite stable in Europe and Germany. I think the shock absorbance capacity in economy is much higher in other countries (I lived in Europe for 3 years and a majority of my life in Asia) , also because the government tries its best to support its people. But capitalism is killing USA, unfortunately.

Boise,sun valley, and couer d alane and Sandpoint area are all blue dots but good ol idaho there's going to be big lifted diesel trucks flying flags in those towns too. Idaho is funny because it's literally a giant desert with mountains and pine trees and you got the Boise area then the Idaho falls area then a smaller area up north that are somewhat populated. Then everywhere else you go it's all farm fields or giant piles of rocks and mountains. All tiny towns with less than 1k people living in them. Everyone is either a farmer or other blue collar worker, gas station worker, or they cook meth in their trailer.
