I watched to see where you were going to rank Bud Collyer. You made the correct call. Loved the Fleisher cartoons.

Never a doubt, man. Definitely So Good! I still have all those Fleischer cartoons on physical media. They are still great and hold up so well.

So Good tier is legit! And agreed that Jack Quaid is well on his way to that tier. I’d have probably put Yuri a little higher. Looking forward to more tiers if you guys plan to do some more. I want to see some Batman tier rankings!

So glad to see the high praise for Jack Quaid! As a fan from the Fleischer Superman forward, I have been delighted by My Adventures with Superman and agreed completely. I was born in 1968, so most of these I experienced in real time except the Ruby Spears as it didn’t air locally for us. A great list and funny to see two of the crew from Firefly made the list … makes me wonder if Nathan Fillion ever voiced him too … Thanks guys !!
@JustBSingProductions3 ай бұрын
Man, didn’t even connect the Firefly actors! Nathan has not played Superman as far as we know, but he’s been Green Lantern many times (and will be in live action soon too), so still in the same world! Pretty funny. You should see if you can find the Ruby Spears Superman (I know it’s on Amazon and is probably on KZbin). I think you’d like it. Thanks for checking out the video!

Danny Dark was who I first heard as a kid watching Superfriends. But I think he's third on my list behind Tim Daly, and George Newbern. Beau Weaver was really good in the underrated Ruby Spears series.

I’m more of a Batman guy, so none of these hit like Kevin Conroy for me, but I was a big fan of JLU, so George Newbern would be my favorite. I have to go watch STAS again also. I’ll probably appreciate it more as an adult! Fun video guys! LMAO at that Tom Welling bit. Love that you guys can laugh at yourselves!

A personal favorite of mine would be Lenny Weinrib, but that's because he was the Filmation Superman, and was featured in a clip frequently used on Sesame Street when I was in the intended demographic for that show. "S" is for....

Didn’t he do the voice of Scrappy Doo and a bunch of the voices on the old New Adventures of Batman cartoon? Didn’t realize he’d portrayed Superman on Sesame Street! Very cool.

Bud Collyer voiced the Filmation Superman. He also did the original radio serial voice. Bob Hastings voiced Superboy and would go on to be Com. Gordon on Batman the Animated series.

To me Superman will always be Bud Collyer. He didn't just made Superman and Clark vocal transition better than anybody else he also made other voice actors make Superman proxi characters take inspiration from him. In the first short for Super (later on Mighty) Mouse (the one where he is dressed in blue like Superman rather than his traditional yellow) there's a radio host news anchor played by Rom Morrison that shifts his updates from alarming VOA commentary (inspired by then VOA voice Gary Cooper whom is said to be one of the inspirations for Clark Kent/Superman glass chilled face and suave style on the Fleischer cartoons) AND Bud Collyer's more sweet and charming voice when things go back to normal when Mighty Mouse is winning and after the invading cats are defeated. That to me is the impact of Bud Collyer. His level of performance TRASCENDED his portrayals and people who followed him based not only Superman like Danny Dark himself but even proxy Superman on him like Tom Morrison on the Mouse of Tomorrow for almost FORTY YEARS. Heck In that short I just mentioned the lines for Super Mouse weren't even recocred by Tom, probably because he didn't want to make a lesser job in the transition between news reporter to Super Mouse. That's not just a legacy, that's an institution.

Lol not a huge fan of him either, but he did a pretty good Superman voice, in our opinion. We didn’t miss John. He was shown on our graphic near the end. He wasn’t on the tier because he wasn’t a top 15 rated voice actor.

Tim Daily and George Newbern are the two difitive voice actors for Superman. They will never be topped. I also liked Jerry O'Connell from Scream 2, Matt Boomer and Darren Criss. Jack Quad from My Adventures With Superman wasn't bas either.

Absolutely. But the biggest question remains, who voiced the character better? Tim Daily or George Newbern?

@ Daly slightly ahead of Newbern for me, but they’re so close, it might as well be a tie.
@billymoore7182Ай бұрын
It's hard for me to choose sometimes. But I've always said when I think of the animated Superman, I usually think of Tim Daily like I do Kevin Conroy as Batman. But George Newbern has really impressed me as well. They both sound like Superman. But yeah, I think Daily is more iconic, but seems to get beat by Newbern in the rankings.

I like your list, But Bud Collyer is Absolutely The Greatest and #1 voice of Superman of All time, No One is even close as Great as they are. Why?? Not one of the people on the list you have, or any of the others not mentioned ever Created anything that has become part of the Superman Legend. Here Is Some Trivia for You. Where did the Differences in the voice of Clark Kent and Superman come from? Bud Collyer when he started to do the voice of Superman/Clark Kent on the radio. . He wanted Something to make Clark and Superman sound Different on the radio. So he Raised his voice Slightly when he was Clark Kent and let his Baritone become Very Dominant when he played the part of Superman. The saying UP UP AND AWAY!!! was also something that Bud started so you could tell that Superman was taking flight. So as Great as the other guys are, not one of them can claim the things that Bud Collyer Did!! To get a better sense of how Great, Bud Collyer was, go watch The New Adventures of Superman from the 60s. It's a lot better than the Fletcher cartoons as Great as they were, you get a better sense of how Great Bud really was!! Like I said, other than that, I would say your list is pretty accurate. Someday I hope a computer wizard creates an AI version of Bud Collyer's voice and uses that on a cartoon or animated movie. Then Everyone,, Young and Old alike will get to see why his version of Superman became so Popular for so many Decades. His version of Superman made you feel like his version of Superman was Unstoppable!!! His Clark Kent have you walked into the theater and didn't know anything about Superman you would be shocked when he came into Superman, because of how different their voices were.
@JustBSingProductions3 ай бұрын
Yeah, hard to argue that and exactly why we had to include that clip demonstrating how great that change was and specifically mentioned that reason as why he was in the top tier. Historical significance is unmatched in the Superman lore.
