Dude, the 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS is actually pretty good and reliable since the 4.6 Northstar v8 was actually fixed, and it makes around 270 hp, and the later ones get bumped up to around 290. It is actually a good sedan still fwd, which I don't mind.

There not really many of theses cars out there, but the Infiniti G20 is a underrated sports sedan with a FWD 2.0L SR20DE engine, came in auto or manual. It's known all over Japan and Mexico but the US was limited inventory. I owe one and it's fun on the twisty roads , but I'm just yapping

The e90 328i is actually super reliable. It has the n52 engine which came in pretty much every bimmer of that era and it runs FOREVERRR. I have a 328i and its never had an issue. I plan on selling it just to get another n52 (e61 530i for space). Pretty much any NA I6 bmw engine is perfect.

@@MrFatbard No it’s not even that, I mean it genuinely seems like a terrible platform to build on. Even if you swapped the engine you still have to worry abt the transmission and all other drivetrain components like driveshafts, axles etc and the ascent has little to no aftermarket support. Most of the stuff you do on that car would have to be custom fab. Which would either be too expensive or too time consuming, probably both. So yes it would be a pretty cool car if you swapped the engine and put 100k into it, but pretty much any car could be fast with 100k. If you want to build something I’d start with a civic or accord with a B or K series. Those engines can handle good power stock. Like 500 on the stock K series internals. And being Honda engines, they’re really reliable and easy to work on.

Two things one My Buddy family has had a Lasabre for as long as I’ve known them and that thing has like missing interior pieces and stuff and it still is one of the comfiest vehicles I have written in number two you can buy the GM 3800 V6 supercharger off of like a Riviera or a regal and slap it on the saber engine and you get about another hundred horsepower or you could put a Whipple on there and those make power surprisingly even though they’re not made too they can definitely scoot around a bit
