He's right. Just got home from closing the bar and most of what I poured tonight was: Beer, Wine, Wiskey and mixer, Vodka and mixer, Moscow Mules, Tequila shots, gin and tonic, Fireball shots for God knows why...yuch, and the occasional Jager bomb, Scooby snack, pickle back etc. There's ALWAYS the girl who comes in and says "I dont know what I want, make me something sweet where I can't taste the alcohol". Yes, she's a college student and just turned 21! LOL.

I was that one girl when i turned 21. The bartender was AMAZING about it. Every drink was something new but all under the same sweet category. Then on one of the last ones he squinted at me and said wait a minute..I know exactly what to give you next. Came back with a drink the same color as my blouse. That was the most hilarious and sweetest(literally i guess ?) thing ever. Bet your butt he was my go to every single time I went out and made sure his tips were $$$$

Not a bartender anymore but for anyone (like me at the time) who was at university just looking for some extra money, it’s not hard to get a job working as a bartender, I knew nothing when I started and learned it all on the job. Don’t think you need to memorise a cocktail book cover to cover. Obviously depends where you work but your typical nightclub/bar people are just going to order double vodka lemonade or a beer

Decided to use the Internet, specifically KZbin, to learn the fundamentals of bartending over paying to attend a bartending school. I appreciate the content, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned overall is the overwhelming amount of inconsistency, from recipes (evolution of drinks, variations then interpretations) to ratios, to pour volumes, to techniques to terminology for glassware and definitions of terms. There’s more inconsistency than standards. I’ve watched several content creators present comprehensive bartending courses, and combined 75% of what they tell/teach you doesn’t match between courses. I’m left with more questions than answers. I feel like I’ll go to an interview and when quizzed on how to make a Martini, a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned my answer will be “you tell me” because my definition of how to make these traditional drinks can be wildly different from everyone else’s. I feel like I need to have a customer fill out a form to give them the version of the drink they expect. I mean, I’ve heard several very different answers to what “Straight Up” means. I’d just accept and use the most common ways all of this stuff is taught, but there seems to be no most common way for anything. Very frustrating.

Hey brother, didn't want to teach each of these recipes in this video because it would be an hour+ long to teach them all. Check the video's description above for links the each of the individual recipe videos. You can also search them on this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLC6lnUHH0orsLD9Z0TuneA23DBzPumDHF Cheers!
