I agree too much water is not good we need to monitor our rain fall and sprinkler clocks constantly , I see my neighbors sprinklers going off just after a heavy rain and during a rainfall too

I have a question for you I live in Bowie and I have been following you for a while. My problem is Japanese Stilt Grass, do I use Tenacity or Aclaim Extra to eradicate. ( it's about Achievement) Please advise.

I’ve been battling disease in my front lawn in PA since May. Drought combined with humid nights. I’m guessing the best steps are to dethatch/aerate to fix this and thin out the lawn, then overseed lightly (?) to repair.

I have a 1 year old MVS TTTF lawn, with brown patch. I have azoxystrobin and propiconazole ready to mix and spray, probably at .77 and 1 oz curative rates. That said, I'm in a heat wave. Mid 90s for the next 2 weeks. I can't find much info about spraying fungicides in the heat. Can you help a friend out? :)

Keep the lawn hydrated with water during the heat. Spray it in the late evening when the temps are cool just before dark. Let it sit on the leaf blades overnight then water it in the next morning.

Started using True Green earlier this year on an almost perfect yard. we have St. Augustine and Centipede and have maintained it beautifully but started traveling more for work this yr so contacted TG in early April. BIG MISTAKE. Their first step was to fertilize when the grass was still dormant. The small little patches of clover took over the Centipede. I complained and they double dosed the weeds so we had huge brown spots that started thinning and Spring rains caused algae. The product we got specially for algae didn’t work. I literally scraped every bit of the algae off and aerated. A few of the smaller spots filled in but we still have some brown spots and the algae seems to be retuning. We’re going to retreat the areas with some special soil and patch with sod but are afraid the algae may be in the soil. Any thoughts?

I am assuming when you say algae you mean moss. Typically the real cause of that is high moisture for long periods of time and lack of sunlight. Reduce the moisture content and increase the sun exposure is the real solution to moss and it will benefit your warm season grass also. As far as repairs, yes you can patch it with sod or allow your existing grass to repair being that it is a spreading grass type but it will take a little time.

Here in Crofton MD my new front lawn got destroyed by what I believe is pythium. I used the right fungicide but it’s too late :(

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. We have been getting enough rain for Pythium to be a problem. You may want to incorporate some Phosphite preventive apps next year now that you know you have the potential for Pythium. That helped me a lot in my backyard.
