Nice to see both Black Cilice and Candelabrum on the list as expected. I'll have to check out the jazz recommendations because you sold me when describing them. Have you listened to Drew McDowalls new record? Did a blind buy at my local shop and have been really enjoying it. It may, in fact, work well as reading music, but it's very hypnotic and seducing sounding.

Awesome list, Myke! I remember checking out that Nimbifer album earlier this year, but I wasn’t in the mood for melodic raw black metal at the time. However, my album of year so far for metal has been a black metal record: Nocturnal Will by the Swedish melodic black metal band Dödsrit. It is amazing with its dual guitar melodies and amazing songwriting. Another black metal record I really loved was from this band from Quebec called Conifère. That record was an incredibly written one as well! It’s all in Québécois French. For non-metal stuff, I was really impressed with the new Brittany Howard solo record and the new record from MGMT. I will have to check out the albums by Secrets (not to be confused with the Warped Tour-style metalcore band of the same name) and Candelabrum.

Balwezo Westijiz - "Tower Of Famine" is another Swartadauthuz project that just got released on Profound Lore. It's just him and Lik on vocals. It's slow atmospheric Black Metal in the vein of his Klavitt....Klavitt project but much darker and more sinister with a considerable amount of keyboards on top....really going for that all-encompassing phantasmagoric atmosphere. Really solid stuff...as per usual from this guy.

MURF was one of the bands praying that time you came to host a fest with Moodie Black in Minneapolis in like 2018 I think and I think you would dig their Noisey take on Hardcore. Their new album "Already Dead" might be their best as they get a little more intricate and reach outside the Punkier composition of their early stuff. Thank you for telling me about Sturgill Simpson's new album. Hadn't heard of it!
