loved that aladdin used his street smarts and what he learned to trick jafar and save the kingdom/the genie and jasmine. really enjoyed tangled for that being a subversion especially how rapunzel was locked up. honestly would've preferred for 4 if buzz/jessie went with woody as that's the only thing i can think of wanting for 5(alongside them being taken in by andy's kid as a bookend.) is them reuniting. like the message of mulan being true to herself alongside her own identity shining past the reflections. love the fox and the hound's ending with how while it's bittersweet that even they won't likely be able to directly see each other(unless if amos chilled enough to realize the fox that saved his life/widow telling him about tod while taking care of him.) "their friendship will never die". love that about the lion king with how even with simba's friends in the deleted scene and 1/2 timon being against going to a dangerous place thinking simba deserted them but pumbaa convinces him to go with nala to help their friend out even if it meant the end of their no worries way knowing when to be serious risking their lives. think break the internets message could've been better if vanellope wasn't selfish at points and didn't have fridge horror of sugar rush getting deleted from her disappearing. really did get miyazaki vibes from the rescuers down under(though i loved ferngully/once upon a forest is more hand heavy with it.) & alongside the great mouse detective as underrated disney movie. atlantis is a Renaissance movie to me as a lot of it actually reminds me of tarzan.(rourke is pretty similar to clayton) i remember that striking me as a kid realizing in up carl was letting go of hist past to move forward to a new life.

The third act message of _Up,_ and most of it for that matter, tend to get overshadowed by the sheer power of it's opening. But the ending message about life being it's own adventure and letting go of the past in order to move forward should be remembered.

I heard that Peter Pan was really the villain, and Capt Hook was the frustrated hero who was running out of time to stop Pan from kidnapping children and bringing them to Neverland, so the children would never get old (by killing them). Hook never wanted to hurt the children, but he wanted to stop Peter Pan. Sounds a lot more feasible, especially with all the children trafficking that's going on today...

Ay, that song from Coco REALLY got to me. I felt like it came directly from my late husband, Tim, who died 28 years ago. Our 33rd anniversary is coming up on August 3rd and I love how this song reminds me of how we're connected. I wouldn't be surprised if Tim sings to me in Heaven when he isn't singing to the Lord Jesus. He loved to sing. I moved away from the county where we got married 25 years ago and I moved back last year. So I hope to visit our old haunts over the next couple weeks leading up to our anniversary.

Aladdin's issues with self-worth, his background, and being an embarrassment to Jasmine are all covered in the TV series, actually, more than once. Yet another reason it irks me so much that Disney continues to refuse to release it on ANY platform, physical or otherwise. It was such a great series!!

They have done that with their specials and shorts. In Toy Story of Terror we get to focus on Jesse and overcoming her fears, Toy Story that Time Forgot we get to focus on Trixie and how she plays so many roles she misses playing a dinosaur, but learns that it doesn’t matter what you play because your still loved by your child, and in Toy Story short Party-saurous Rex we focus on Rex and even though he may be clumsy, he can still be a lot of fun.

I hope you mentioned inside out. Because my giant problem with that movie is that everyone takes home the growing up angle and is like, bing bong is so sad, but as a person who struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts, I love this movie becuase it’s really about depression and how sadness is a necessary thing to feel balanced. It’s also about depression being caused by many things such as fear, moving, anger, ETC. I just hate that the main thing people take away is bing bong death sad and growing up hard when the main villain is essentially depression, and maybe joy, but she could just be a very flawed protagonist. Like woody. He was a bit of a woody himself in the first movie.

Nice list but I would have included Beauty and the Beast. For some, it's about living happily ever after but what it represents can be interpreted in two ways (depending upon who you ask): a case of Stockholm Syndrome (I disagree here) or the fact that Belle changed her outlook on life because she shunned men, had no interest in coming close to being with one but realizing she was fine with a romance since the Beast/Prince had truly noble qualities, which she saw even when he was a furry animal. Some also suggest she gave up her other desires upon marrying him, i.e. adventures. However, who's to say they never left the castle? I can see Belle and Beast departing the castle to go look for buried treasure or just have a wonderful time.

I always saw it (the ending) as a link to the old adage that tests true love. "If you love someone/something, set them free. If they don't return, it never was love. If they do, it is true love." As he says to Cogsworth, "I let her go." "Why?" "Because...I love her."

Ralph Breaks the Internet had such a subtle ending, it literally stated out loud, in front of the audience's face, with no intrusive background noise, that Ralph is extremely insecure about the idea of Vanellope not being there to keep him grounded and happy, before physically embodying that insecurity as the big monster at the end that he defeats by having a long conversation of "THIS IS THE MORAL OF THE MOVIE NOW ACCEPT IT AND GO AWAY". I mean what, you couldn't draw up a quick metal sign that says "Ralph uses Vanellope as a tool for his own happiness and it's extremely unhealthy" whose power is to physically smack the audience in the face with its message and make *that* the final villain of the movie? It's no wonder audiences might be confused.

You mean we didn't know what the endings really meant when we saw these movies as kids, right? These did have very significant endings: Tangled did have a happy ending and I couldn't imagine how long it would take Eugene and Rapunzel to get married: 2 years or 3 seasons of a adventures' serie, I thought that the number of years was said to exaggerate; in The Lion King, I only knew somehow Simba would to return to his home, I was also amazed when Timon and Pumba came to help, that is true friendship, if not, what kind of true friends would they be?; when I saw Toy Story 3, I didn't expect Andy to also donate to Woody; let alone I expected that in Toy Story 4, Woody's farewell with his friends, I thought they would be happy and together from now on in Toy Story 3; about Zootopia, it's like you said that the prejudices don't change overnight but you should keep trying to make the world a better place; When I saw Coco, I was taken by surprise by the whole plot twist, more when the great grandmother died and the same time she met again with his Dad, it was a very moving bittersweet ending; about the Fox and the Hound, I like to think that in the end Tod and Tobby both continued as friends forever, although they no longer live close; it was th mos satisfying ending when finally Bernardo proposes marriage to Bianca oh yeah; although "Alice in Wonderland", I never understood the movie well and that it was only a dream when Alice woke up

_Ralph Breaks the Internet_ is insulting. Both Ralph and Vanellope leave their games for the same reason -- they felt unfulfilled by their roles. Both games face being unplugged forever without their key characters. Everyone mocks or scolds Ralph for doing it. When Vanellope does it, it's all, "WOO-HOO! YOU GO, GIRL! GIRL POWER!" Vanellope has less reason to leave her game because she's a popular, playable hero. Ralph's a hillbilly who throws bricks at the hero, Fix-It Felix, Jr.

The ending of The Lion King does not disprove the Hakuna Matata philosophy. The truth is more complex than that. In the middle of the movie, Simba Needed Hakuna Matata. Simba needed Hakuna Matata in order to heal and grow strong. Only through being able to heal and grow strong through Hakuna Matata in the middle of the movie was Simba able to grow strong enough to defeat Scar in the end. Just like right now America needs Hakuna Matata in order to heal and grow strong again. But that is not the main point of this comment.

Where it does help keep the powers-that-be in power I think the lie about humans being toxic to monsters was implemented by the powers-that-be to protect both worlds mostly the monsters. There's an alternate opening to The first movie that basically explains that monstrous in humans used to share the world but that overtime humans became distrustful and fearful of monsters so they basically left for their own world. I didn't like to imagine that the lie about humans being toxic has been around since the beginning as a way to keep the younger generations from trying to explore the human world or try to keep them from interacting with older humans or worse try to bring a human into their world. Can you imagine what would happen if certain groups of people find out that there's a whole nother world that has perfected dimensional travel and it's full of monsters.

Ariel sings about how badly she wanted to see the human world before she ever saw Eric. And she didn't make any actual effort to become human until her father destroyed her human stuff..and even then it was Ursula taking advantage of Ariel being in a vulnerable position after coming to blows with her father. She didn't change for a msn. Eric was the finally straw after the way her father treated her

The fox and the hound and bambi are two prime examples of why disney's live acction remakes are given to the wrong movies. I think that both movies deserve a Live action remake as much as the Aristocats, specifically to fix elements of the plot that were either not obvious enough, or too ambigious. I think live action remakes could be a good thing for certain more underrated films, especially with the rise of fandoms built around these films that are specifically underrated. But, disney goes for the charizards of their films and ends up botching the story instead of making underrated films have a fresher take...

Given the title for this video, I expected you to identify, for each movie, a misconception about the meaning of the ending that was pretty much universal, followed by a correction. I may have missed something, but I didn't notice you identifying a single misconception.

12:28: So we're all just supposed to ignore the fact that she game hopped? You know, the thing that the villain from the first movie was doing that almost got everyone in the arcade killed? I can somewhat respect Wreck-It Ralph for being a giant metaphor for the cruelty of fate and learning to make the best with what you are given. But RBTI took a giant diarrhea dump all over that.
