Agreed - utter stupidity. Rick's videos have prompted my to buy several CDs so far - a deeper dive into things I'd heard in the past but maybe not been interested enough at the time to buy into kindles an interest and results in a sale. Some people will cut off their nose to spite their face. I don't get it.

Cotronixco I agree with you. Even before the tragedies that will keep them from ever being Boston again, the chills were there! “A Man I’ll Never Be“ was one of my Favourite solos of the second LP; however, the first LP was the only time I bought an album by a new band because of one song: “More than a Feeling” ! It must have been similar to the feeling those fortunate enough to hear the first sounds of the Beatles and thought “how did they make those great, great those sounds?”…! (Hint: a lot of talent - raw talent - and a chap call Sir George Martin.)

Sultans of Swing came to mind first and Rick seemed most excited hearing that one. Presumably the most popular outro of all time, if not the best in a technical sense. Part of it is knowing that a band nobody knew about could bring a fresh and clean approach to guitar and instantly dominate the charts based on the music and nothing but the music. Haven't seen anything like it since.

Telegraph and Sultans of Swing both belong on this list. I'm a massive Dire Straits fan, and I think it's becoming clear to me that RB just isn't. Which doesn't quite make sense in my head. I'd just love to see one Dire Straits breakdown. I personally love how Telegraph Road slowly builds to a manic guitar solo that fades out. The great thing about being old, in my experience anyway, is being able to have lived and learned with and through all of this great music. The level of proficiency needed to work at all in the old days was just incredible. The main reason all of this old music is still relevant, however, has nothing at all to do with stellar musicianship. It was and is intelligent, talented songwriting. Good/great guitar players are a dime a dozen, they always have been. The good songwriters are the ones we'll be listening to in another 50 years.
