Hi Kevin, first of all, thank you for your awesome videos!! Second, do you have video that shows how to create cells that change color when for example, a certificate is about to expire? So it can give visual alert or something like that...

Hi is it possible to do this in Excel? I want to add numbers (1-9) in Columns across the top and for the amount of 1s, 2s, 3s, etc to show up at the end in a kind of results section if you get what i mean. Imagine say 100 numbers in the top bar, left to right, is that rows or columns? beneath them being the numbers 1 to 9, ONLY those 9 numbers will be used, nothing above 10 etc, so in the cell below 17 there might be a 6 for example, and then after the first 100 numbers i would like a section that counts the numbers in those first 100 rows. Those would just be numbered 1 to 9 and would give how many 1s, 2s, etc are in those first 100 rows. Lets say of those 100 numbers, there are 53 numbers in the first 53 slots, ( i would have 100 rows as there may be more or less numbers in each row and you can never know how many so i need extra just in case. Some will be 1s, 2s, etc all the way up to 9s. I want the section at the end to show how many 1s are in there, 2s etc, then i can add a bit at the end of that to give me a total of those 9 rows if you get what i mean. It would be easier than having to count across the numbers how many 1s are in that section, then adding them in the counting area at the end and would be more accurate etc. Is that possible to do? Another one i wanted to do was a similar thing but with all numbers being counted as the main numbers 1 to 9 etc, so if there is a 53 for example, that would go in the 8 section as 5 plus 3 is 8 if you get my logic, is that possible to do in Excel? Thanks in advance. This is just for tracking lottery numbers, so if ball 59 came up, that would be a 5 number as 5+9=14 and 1+4=5 etc. It's got no accounting use as far as i am concerned.

A lot of what you shared I didn't know. As a school teacher, this is one of the most powerful tools to use when playing with data to accomplish a task, not only easily but quickly too. Thank you, Kevin, for the effort. Prepare another one showing more tips.

I must say it was a great experience. The tutorial covered a wide range of topics, including defining names for cells, absolute and relative cell reference, macros, data types, xlookup function, sum function, concatenate and flash fill, sumif function, countif function, IF function, calculating the difference between dates, adjusting column width and row height, freezing panes, pivot tables, drop-down lists, importing data from the web, collaborating with others, and commenting. The tutorial was well-organized and presented in a user-friendly manner. I appreciated the step-by-step approach and practical examples provided for each topic. The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, making it easy to follow along and retain the information. The topics covered in the tutorial were very comprehensive and gave me a better understanding of how to use Excel more efficiently. I particularly enjoyed learning about the xlookup function and pivot tables, which have already proven to be useful in my work. Overall, I highly recommend this tutorial to anyone looking to improve their Excel skills. The topics covered were relevant and useful, and the tutorial was presented in a clear and concise manner. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced Excel user, there is something to be gained from this tutorial.

After watching about 15 minutes of your videos, I figured out how to create a sum by selecting the cell I want the sum in, entering the = sign, then clicking on the cell I want to subtract from, then hitting either the minus or add sign, then clicking on the cell I want to add or subtract, then hitting enter. EASIEST THING EVER!! Now my budget adjusts as commissions flow in and payments flow out. My life just became so much easier!!!

You show how to define name for one column. Good. if you want define names for all columns, I suggest to pick a cell in your table, press Ctrl+* for selecting everything and choose the tool in the ribbon Create from selection. It works if each column has a unique name.

Thank you, that was very useful. one of my favourite tips is to use the "Customise Quick Access Toolbar" at the top of the ribbon, add your most frequently used icons so that you don't need to keep going through the ribbon to find them, you can add via the "more commands" section in the drop down or simply right mouse click and "Add to Quick Access Toolbar". This saves me so many extra clicks in a day :)
