The tragic part is that a man who has never functioned or socialized in a normal setting or a real world, with a severe lack of knowledge about almost everything about it, just got loose into it, with no money (which I suppose won't be much problem since he can sue the studio for a literal lifetime of unpaid wages) no family, no where to go, or proper idea of how to function, with a hopefully possibility of one love interest (he could possibly trust), who might be reach him before someone else grabs him in front of the studio and essentially puts him back into the same position of exploitation. We can hope people will still treat him as nice as he was treated in his fake world, but even real world people with the best intentions can be still be absolute dicks.

It just sucks that the book ending, which is the superior one all things considered, would have been a crap ending to the movie due to the difference in medium and storytelling methods involved. So Peter Jackson killed off Saruman and moviegoers got a happy ending, instead of the rude awakening of coming back to the Shire with Saruman in firmly in charge of the place and attempting to respond in kind to what was done to him at Isengard. Thematically, it's thr better ending and served up another aspect of Tolkien's overall message (in this specific case, that somtimes "you can't go home again" and that war can leave some pretty messy problems behind), but having the movie end with solving the Shire's problem after you already stopped Sauron is an awful ending once transitioned to film.
@jayluck8047
@jayluck8047 4 жыл бұрын
countcapricorn - Agreed. I always shut off the movie early and read, “The Scouring of the Shire”. It’s the most satisfying ending. The completion of the journey, the lessons learned, and how differently Sam and Frodo handle their returning to the Shire, is the main point of the story and ties into Tolkien’s life during times of war.

The Silence of the Lambs is my favorite movie, but the ending seems unrealistic. I mean, Buffalo Bill could have easily killed Clarice with his gun since he was wearing night vision glasses and had seen where Clarice was. However, he approached her and tried to kill her at close range, which made the trigger sound and alerted Clarice. She ended up killing him instead with her great reflexes. Also, the fact that the FBI trainee outsmarted the senior FBI agent also confused me.

The Breakfast Club's ending is one of the best although one could argue that it might not be satisfactory as it is uncertain if the five teenagers remain friends beyond that Saturday and make an attempt to talk to each other within the high school world. Apparently there is a deleted (additional) ending scene where the five characters see each other in the hallway at school on Mondays and give nods to each other while they are in their peer groups but it's still not completely clear.

Unfortunately Nolan was evasive about the meaning of the epilogue, suggesting it was likely a reprise of Alfred's dream rather than an actual look-forward (regardless of the interim tech exchange meant to 'leave it open' more than confirm it). Bale thought the character lived though.

First of all it’s Lord of the Rings. Return of the King isn’t a movie, Lord of the Rings is one film, Return of the King is just the third act. And it really wasn’t all that satisfying or tear jerking. Honestly I found it so frustrating with Peter Jackson’s 500 endings and his 499 fake outs. Plus they removed the Scouring of the Shire which was like the best part out of the novel.

Really, no Casablanca which is possibly the most iconic ending of all time? Maybe some are bigger but none more quotable. It was completely satisying. Rick does the right thing and does not take the married woman from her husband. And there is a start of a brillant new friendship at the very end. Perfect ending.
