That red car in the beginning didn't cause the accident. The Hyundai violated his right of way by cutting in front of him. Hyundai is 100% at fault.

What I have learned from watching Tesla crashes: 1) Teslas are absurdly expensive to fix, and 2) they take an absurdly long time to get fixed.

This is exactly why all of our insurance premiums are going up. And the reason they wont pay big bucks for an older Tesla. To them no car is worth more than it was new. Also the batteries are in unknown condition. Agents are trying to total these cars out in every accident now and using this tactic. They will scrap your title without telling you in most cases.

Vehicles going straight through an intersection always have the right of way over those turning left in front of them.

Vehicles going straight dont ALWAYS have the right of way. They could have a red light, while the turning vehicles have a green light. In this case, you are probably right though. Many other cars were seen going straight before and after the turning vehicle crashed into the red car.

I was hit head on by a drunk driver in downtown KC back in 2020. I was going 35 (the speed limit) and the guy who hit us was going 70mph driving on our side of the street. My husband was the only person to sustain life threatening injuries, but he took it like a champ and is fine now :) I myself ended up with some brain damage, but nothing extreme. As for what happened to the drive… he was supposed to get 5 years in prison, but ended up getting shanked in jail and died before the trial. There’s positive endings to a good few of these stories. We should definitely share them more often!

Drunk driving is a choice and should be punished. Due to being so limber while drunk they tend to always walk away from wrecks while the victims don't.

With #5, I know he was trying to get over to make the exit, but given the truck was kicking up a ton of mist, I wouldn't've moved over like that. I would've let the truck get fully in front of me by slowing down, then move over when the mist dissipated enough. I've had too many people cut me off and blind me in rain and snow for me to intentionally get that close to a large truck like that.

The accident with the boat trailer is totally the vehicle pulling the trailer that is at fault. -Quick lane change. -Cutting off the right of way of the tesla -His trailer's brake/signal light was defective. If he had check if his lights work before driving off he would probably have driven more carefully.

#WhamBaamTeslacam ROCKS! *#8 @**17:19* Here is great rule to follow, and it's kept me free of hydroplaning in my over 45 years of driving cars, motorcycles, trucks and semi-trucks: *If you cannot clearly see* the tires of the vehicles on the roadway in front of you, because of the mist/water-spray their tires are throwing up, *it means there a is A LOT of water on the road surface.* This much water will cause hydroplaning *even with new, deep-tread tires!* I learned this when I was younger and it was a hydroplaning incident that schooled me quickly! I was about 22 yrs old, and luckily I was very attentive driver behind the wheel, with my full concentration on driving. I was raining pretty hard but not what I would have thought as dangerous. At about 45-mph, the speed limit, my car just got a little squirrely but I did not lose control - I was just on the edge of adhesion between road and tires, and letting off the accelerator slightly was enough to recover. It's a weird feeling, it's like the steering wheel is not connected to the front wheels! You turn it but your direction of travel stays the same, or goes in a different direction. Anyway, just a moment later someone in a Jaguar went by me at only about 10-mph faster and ended up in a ditch with his car on its side. It happened so fast and was a scary thing to see! Luckily there were no injuries, but I noted that he and I both had more than sufficient tread on our tires. Earlier, before any of this, I remembered that I had not been able to see the rear tires of the other vehicles on the roadway. Now, years later, I can always tell when there is the potential for someone to lose it on a wet road. *If you cannot see the tires of the vehicles in front - SLOW DOWN! And, remember that seeing that heavy spray coming up from their tires also [means that they might be] traveling above a safe speed for the conditions.* Drive safe! *_I think that if you can afford it - BUY TESLA! They are well engineered vehicles, and getting better every day. What amazes me is the technology being achieved through Tesla. The kind of powerful batteries that are available today are because of Tesla research! The planet is going EV whether we want it or not and we have to start sometime. I just don't want anyone MANDATING that I buy EV, just because they say so...JOE!_*

By racing around a residential area at motorway speeds. Anyone traveling a sane speed could've avoided that cash, but by barreling down the road breakneck speed (looks 90+ to me) he both made impossible for the turning car to even see him and made it impossible for him to stop, thus being at fault.

#2, coincidentally, a 20 yr old female died in March of 22 in Pasadena, Ca. in a accident that sounded very similar to this clip. She merged too late and hit the divider. I was sure I was watching that accident until the narrator said she survived.

Actually Tesla scores horribly on all safety aspects except driver safety. Their pedestrian safety record sits at an atrociously low 70-74% according to EuroNCAP. For reference: You can get a car with better pedestrian safety for $ 2000. Passenger safety etc too is just not value for money.

Nope. Red car is barreling down the road at ludicrous speeds, making it both impossible to spot him in time and impossible for him to avoid the crash (which anyone going a sane speed could've). Damages probably go 67-33 or 50-50 to the detriment of the racer in the red car.

teslacam is discolored in a way that makes anything red look orange. as for who caused the accident, I'd say it's whoever thought it was a good idea to let people turn left across oncoming traffic. of course straight traffic is going to speed and of course turning traffic is going to misjudge the gap

@@fredpuntdroad8701 as I said, the person who's to blame wasn't at that junction. it's just fundamentally a horrendous idea for safety and travel times to let people make left turns across oncoming traffic. legally the left turning driver is at fault, which is fucking absurd because it's often very difficult to judge the speed of something coming straight at you. and the driver going straight was definitely speeding on accident because that dumbass street is designed to highway code so of course people are going to drive highway speeds on it

#15 - get a lawyer. Insurance companies cover the vehicle based on market value. If the value of the vehicle goes up it is not your fault. Also if repairs are more than vehicle worth they should total the car and pay you as per insurance contract. Again insurance contract typically say vehicle market value. Get a lawyer and have him send both insurance company a letter stating that if repair costs are not covered you will pursue legal action.

That's wrong. Insurance isn't obligated to pay up for a Tesla upselling scam. The value is purchase value minus value lost due to age. Anything you claim on top of that is not their problem, it's yours. This is why most people who own historical cars have olddtimer insurance that actually covers a value increase over time

If the auto manufacturer increased the cost of their parts that is not the owners fault. I suggest you get out of your house to the real world. Another thing that has happened in the real world is people purchase a vehicle today and a month from now that same vehicle is worth more than the purchase value.

The magic word here is GAP insurance. If the contract dose not cover the GAP between current value and the new Value then this is absolutely normal and correct. Because without GAP insurances always only cover the current value of the car at this time (so always beneath the value of a new car even if the List Price is the same).

Interesting take on the beta test accident(23). Is it part of the self driving accident protocol to allow a fender accident or impact rather then a door impact or this just supposition? Also if a driver had been in control, is it also possible that the driver would have proceeded, or not, in less or more then 6 seconds and at a higher or lower rate of acceleration thus avoiding the accident altogether? This is not a win for telsa's self driving feature.

That's really a turn off to buying a tesla, the high repair cost. I pretty much think that is because unlike some cars you are forced to buy genuine tesla parts instead of 3rd party parts that are cheaper but almost had the same quality as the original....
