I love the N64 as it was the first console I really started to read up on prior to launch and got as many magazines through its life. For a system that had such a small library it did have far to many regional exclusives. Well more for Japan and North America we really did get the short end of the stick here in Europe and often had to wait even longer because it still took ages to localise some games in multiple language.

I was always upset that the WWF variants of VPW removed CPU logic from the creator mode. Hell, I don't think the feature exists in any western wrestling game while it's there in nearly all japanese ones. It adds so much to your creations, it's baffling it wasn't included in any WWF/E game.

Really wish these videos would stop feeling the need to talk shit about the N64. We get it. You owned PS1 and loved it. Cool. I subscribe to a lot of youtubers that clearly have a love for PS1 but it gets tiring hearing the digs at the system. I've been recently collecting PS1 games and while it's a good system , it's 3D has it's own issues and the loading takes getting used to.

I never even mentioned the Playstation in this video, so I am really not sure what the Playstation has to do with the Nintendo 64 having a low selection of games? The Sega Saturn had a lot more decent games released that generation than the 64 too which I have pointed out in the past. I often comment on the limits of the Playstation as well for example how it was underpowered when it came to 2D gaming, so in most instances, if a fighting game was released on the Playstation and Saturn, the Saturn version would be superior every time. But you are right, this is not the right channel to go to if you want someone to shower one-sided praise on any console. I will point out the flaws, I would rather my subscriber base were grounded in reality. For the record though I owned a Nintendo 64 before a PS1.
@polycube868

Its not Nintendos fault if a game that they didn't make didn't get a release outside of Japan. Its the fault of the company that made the game. Its also not being selfish to release a game only in Japan. They probably didn't think it wouldn't sell well or didn't have enough money to fund an international release.

I suspect there's a similar case to the North American version in that the region lock is simply a cosmetic difference with the cartridge. If you take the back of a Japanese cartridge off and swap it with the back of a US cartridge it will fit into the system and play fine. But I don't know how the NTSC/PAL issues work out.
