I live in Sierra Vista. We don't have all the things to do that are in Phoenix, but we do have a quieter and less expensive place to live. Still expensive, but not as bad as Phoenix. Winters are not bad at all. We get snow 2 or three times a year, but it melts the same day, but I can still see snow on the mountains to the South of me. Summers are not bad here at all. Sometimes I think that July and August are the best months here. We get rain in the afternoons and everything cools down very nicely. We are an hour out of Tucson so anything special we need is available just an hour away.

I have hiking, biking and many places of horticulture places like Tohono Chul, Mission Garden, Tucson Botanical Gardens. Even the far east side of Tucson around Harrison and Houghton are good places with good neighborhoods. My brother has built a house in Williamson Arizona at Whispering Canyon, another beautiful area he is going to move to later this month. Its not far from Prescott, a real wholesome decent city.

$200000! Back in ‘91, beautiful 3 bedroom townhouses went for around $50,000. I purchased a huge 3 bedroom, 2 car garage house in an awesome Chandler neighborhood for $115,000 back ‘93. Today it’s up close to $1,000,000. Absolute lunacy. Then we started to have a big influx of Californians, then home prices started to escalate. A bunch of us wanted to post signs on I 10, “City closed, go back.” Many were coming in with cash, therefore sellers saw an advantage to jack up prices. It was great back then before f’in Californicates arrived in droves and f’up things up for us valley residents. No longer the Valley of the Sun.

You're just jealous bc you could never attain the experience of living comfortably elsewhere. People who have moved to AZ have contributed to the economy of this state no matter where they came from. I was a Californian who moved to beautiful Scottsdale but will always be a Californian at heart after having lived in three other countries. Every time one of these announcements is made we get an influx of people, more rich people than middle income and a lot from California. It drives up the cost of living and the building boom starts. Listen people Arizona is not the dream place you're told about. We barely have enough water to get by in most cities. If you are not financially well off I suggest you stay away, especially Phoenix(Los Angeles) of Arizona, Prescott, and most big cities in the southern part of the state. The cost of living is high. The realtors will make it seem like paradise for obvious reasons. The infrastructure can't keep up with the growth. Lots of roads are in disrepair, water is scarce, and crime is high in larger cities. Don't believe me then do research from reputable websites.

The so-called problems a lot of Americans have are quite pathetic, compared to much less fortunate countries. Some countries have no infrastructure, running water, electricity, things of that nature. Americans crying over their Starbucks, not being made correctly or to their liking, not enough cream and things of the like. It’s a disgrace where we are as a society. I love my country and I’m grateful for the opportunities that have been given to me being born and raised here. Everything in life is relative, the poorest Americans are still afforded more opportunities and luxuries than most other countries have. Most people need to get out of their poor me mentality and make something of the blessings you were given.
