I have a 70 D and I go with the Sigma 17-50 2.8, EFS 55-250 IS STM, and the 70-300 IS USM. The 18-35 IS STM cannot compete with the first two lenses mentioned on image quality factor and I don't even think about using it.

I am thinking about buying the 17-50mm 2.8, or canon 17-55mm f2.8. maybe you are familiar with both - do you have any advice on which one is better for 70D? @ic4miles , If you are still using the camera , of course !

@@amaliachandiryan7044 hi. I have canon 70D and i used 35mm 2.0 and 50 mm 1.4 both canon lenses, sometimes 10-18 for group photos. Then i bought canon 17-55 2.8, which is i think is very worth it, i saw some review in comparison with sigma 17-50 and got that canon is better in this case. From experience it is exceptional for every scenario i have used

Hello, I’m BRAND new to photography and was gifted a 70d. I’m going to Italy for a wedding soon and want to know what’s the best affordable lense for travel. Thanks!

Sounds like a super fun trip! In terms of wide angle and really getting you and the entire party into pictures OR for landscapes/vistas I really like the 10-18mm: amzn.to/4aEM6M8 At 18MM on this 70D body, it's pretty close to what the human eye sees.

@@pricklypearcamera thanks for your quick response! Will this work for wedding photos as well as scenery? I was thinking of the 85mm 1.8 since everyone raves about it
@pricklypearcamera6 ай бұрын
@@BankEdits The 85mm or 50MM 1.4 would be superb options for actual wedding photography (portraits, etc), 85mm you would have to be quite a bit further back for shooting than a 50mm for example. Both produce great bokeh.

I have a 6D, 5D mk2, an EOS-M and a 70D. I still regret selling my 7D. I like the first generation of cameraes that come up with something new. I feel like the producers put more into those that the follow ups. The EOS-M is built like a tank. :D I use the 6D and 5D in the studio. But the camera I always have with me is the 70D with a Sigma Art (or 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM, the full title), a HSS/TTL-compatible flash, and a small LED video ligth. :)

Nice! that's a list of some of Canon's greatest cameras. I love the Sigma ART line too, 18-35mm, 24-105mm, etc great walk around shooting lenses with excellent optical performance.

I love my 70D. It’s a really sturdy camera. I have the kit lens, an off-brand 50, 35, and 400 zoom. The video is sharp and good color without shooting raw and post correction. Okay, it’s not 4K but shooting that size can have problems. Mainly it’s about storage. I think that the final video product is fantastic. If I still need it in 4K, I can get that in a IA program and it does a fantastic job. Having said all of this, I am wanting to be able to shoot longer than 29.9 minutes. That’s why I am looking for a real video camera but don’t know which one to buy. Obviously something in 4K. So, do you have any advice?
@pricklypearcamera2 күн бұрын
Cool! One option you may consider is something in the Canon RF line (I have a more entry EOS R50 that shoots 4k). But they run up to more premium full frame models at $2k+. The cool thing about moving to an RF mount camera is that you could buy the Canon EF - R adapter (I think it's around $150), and you can use your Canon EF or EF-S lenses WITHOUT any issues AF wise. I have been using 6 different EF/S lenses on the adapter with my EOS R50 and works like a charm. That way your glass doesn't go to waste. Hope that helps?!

@pricklypearcamera4 ай бұрын
Hmmm, could be a connection issue. There are gold colored contact points that allow the lens to interact with the body. Sometimes those connections can get dirt/etc on and will affect the connection. Occasionally, this has been worn off over time and will always show "not recognized". I have watched a few videos on how to attempt to fix, but haven't been to successful myself.

If you are looking for a single lens for weddings, I would recommend the 18-135mm STM, it allows for a variety of shots from portrait to mid range, and is really quite sharp: amzn.to/3TK2Zz5

I currently own a Canon 70d and 80d cameras, but I also recently acquired a 10-year-old Canon Cinema C100 Mark II that I absolutely love. I used the Canon 70d for an experimental indie film a few years ago and still using the same lenses of Canoon 70d and 80d.
